Vehicle Description
This numbers matching, PHS documented, beautifully restored 1969
Pontiac Trans Am is now available at the Maxmotive Pittsburgh
Showroom. Rare and desirable, sporting its original 400 cubic inch
Ram Air III H.O. V8 engine and M20 4-speed manual transmission, it
is one of only 520 Trans Am Coupes produced for 1969 with this
potent combination. The third member is the correct 10-bolt
Safe-T-Track differential with 3.55 gears. A smooth coat of the
correct Cameo Ivory exterior paint blankets the original sheet
metal with stunning results, and the doors, hood, and deck lid all
open and close smoothly and easily. The interior is just as nice,
with the correct blue vinyl bucket seats, new carpeting, and a
Formula steering wheel on a tilt column. The dash is as new,
complete with the factory tach and optional rally gauge package.
Perfect Rally II wheels with stainless trim rings and -- a
testament to the thorough detail of the restoration -- F70-14 white
letter Goodyear Polyglas belted tires. Pontiac excitement was at
full throttle in 1969. In an official release, the division's new
general manager, F. James McDonald, gushed, "The most striking
styling feature of the new Trans Am will be a floating 60-inch air
foil spanning the rear deck. The car also features a special hood
with full length, functional hood scoops and functional air outlets
behind the front wheel openings for added engine compartment
cooling. As with the Judge, a new super GTO, which was unveiled by
Pontiac earlier this year, the Trans Am will 'go performance one
step better.'" See detailed photos at www.maxmotive.com. **********
