Vehicle Description
This 1995 Ferrari F512M is highly desirable because of its Enzo-era
purity, and the M, and it's available now from Maxmotive's flagship
Pittsburgh Showroom. It's been suitably well cared-for and driven
fewer than 12,000 miles. One of just 501 built, this exemplary
example presents as new. The Modificato or "modified" version took
the already delectable 512 and made the kind of changes that count,
such as reduced weight and more power, plus design refinements to
distinguish the new model. This is also the final edition of the
beloved Testarossa. Ferrari refined the horizontally opposed 12
cylinder power plant for lighter reciprocating weight, durability
and power. Now with 440 horsepower and a wide power band, the
engine has titanium connecting rods, forged pistons, a lighter
crankshaft, and a dry-sump oiling system. Dual Overhead Cam heads
use four valves per cylinder and variable-pitch valve springs. With
a 196 mph top speed, there's no question about the engine's
high-rpm capabilities, yet there's plenty of usable power down low.
Motor Trend said, "The flat-12 has always provided progressive,
usable power, along with some of the best sound effects you can
ever hope to hear." Indeed, that unmistakable sound is a major part
of the Ferrari mystique. Enzo would also approve of the striking
Rosso Corsa exterior and tan and black leather interior
combination. The Prancing Horse is proudly embroidered into the
matching tan floor mats. The traditional chrome gated shifter and
adjustable drilled aluminum pedals also adorn the air-conditioned
cabin. 18-inch directional Speedline wheels are specific to each
corner. They measure 18x8 inches in the front and a massive 18x10.5
for the rear with 235 and 295 tires. The F512 M was introduced at
the Paris Show between October 6th and 16th 1994, exactly ten years
after the introduction of the Testarossa. It was produced between
late 1994 and early 1996, with a total production of only 501 cars.
The serial numbers are in the range of 99375 till 105516. A total
of 75 cars went to North America and they were all numbered # .. of
75, with this particular car being # 51 of 75 and serial #101411.
