Vehicle Description
This 2007 Ford Mustang Shelby GT500 is a great find as it has yet
to reach 1800 miles! And you'll find it at the beautiful Maxmotive
Pittsburgh Showroom. So everything is the way it was when it left
the factory in Flat Rock, Michigan. The magic 500 horsepower
threshold is achieved through its 5.4L modular V8. It's a
sophisticated powerplant featuring aluminum Dual OverHead Cam heads
sourced from the Ford GT supercar with four valves per cylinder.
Team Shelby says these heads were developed specifically for
supercharged applications and use high-flow ports and specially
calibrated dual-overhead camshafts to deliver optimum engine
breathing along with surprisingly good fuel efficiency. On top is
an Eaton supercharger and water-to-air intercooler generating 8.5
psi of boost. It produces a broad torque band that peaks at 480
pound-feet. The connecting rods are unique to this engine along
with forged pistons to handle the boost. This engine was proudly
hand assembled, so in the engine room is a plaque with the
technician's signature. A Tremec T56 6-speed manual is stout enough
to live behind 500 horses and provide quick, smooth shifts. The
power is transmitted to a 3.31 axle. While we're underneath the
car, it's worth noting that the undercarriage is as new; even all
the factory markings and tags are present. To celebrate its Shelby
heritage, this superb example is painted High Performance White
with Vista Blue Lemans stripes. A Shelby rear spoiler teamed with a
special front splitter keeps the car planted at speed. The GT500
retains the same Mustang suspension setup used on the Ford Racing
FR500C to win the 2005 Grand-Am Cup championship and earn Ford the
manufacturers' title. That means coil-over MacPherson struts in
front with lower control arms formed from lightweight I-section
steel. In back, there's a three-link live axle with coil springs,
Panhard bar, stabilizer bar, and outboard shocks. Carrol Shelby's
cars are indeed born to run, but you certainly don't have to drive
this car hard to enjoy it. It's also a great place to relax. Of
course it's air conditioned with power steering and tilt, and the
power windows go up or down with just one touch. There's a Shaker
1000 CD-6 sound system with speed sensor volume control. In the
trunk are two big subwoofers that look real mean, to say nothing of
the sound. Nice details like leather bucket seats with embossed
Cobra emblems, bright aluminum pedal covers, special SVT finned cam
covers, and fog lights add an exclusive feel. And when it's time to
slow down, 4-wheel Brembo brakes with 14-inch 4-piston front
calipers and 11.8-inch rears ably handle the job. Staggered
Goodyear F1 Supercar tires, 255/45ZR18 fronts and 285/40ZR18 rears
wrap the original SVT machine-finished aluminum wheels, a tough
combination to beat for looks and functionality. As hard as it is
to believe that all this Shelby and SVT sweetness was only driven
1796 miles so far, here's a wonderful opportunity for you to own
(and drive?) a virtually new 2007 Ford Mustang Shelby GT500. See
