Vehicle Description
1984 Porsche 944 rust-free, 5-speed, manual. It has covered,
roughly, 174k miles. The recent acquisition of a Panamera, another
dream car of mine, has reluctantly forced the sale of my beloved
944. Car runs great, idles smoothly, and does not overheat (aux
fans come on right when they should, to keep the car cool). Air
conditioning is ice cold, as well, as I just had the ac compressor
and drier replaced and recharged. Fresh tune up including air
filter, spark plugs, all belts and wires were preformed with OEM
parts. The DME relay, which is prone to failure on a drive, has
been replaced with a solid state DME relay. A lot of preventative
maintenance and repairs have been preformed by my certified,
Porsche independent. I also have service records dating back to the
late 80s, and have recently spent more than 10k getting the car
mechanically sorted. The whole cooling system, including the water
pump, thermostat, radiator and hoses were recently replaced. Of
course the timing belt and balance belt has also been replaced and
rechecked for tension within OEM spec. The transmission shifts
smoothly, and the clutch feels good. This is probably on account of
having installed the Only944 short shifter, and the Only944 linkage
arm. The car hasn't been driven in the winter, and having come from
a warm climate, there is no rust at all! (watch the video in the
link, below). It comes equipped with Porsche sport seats, with no
tears in the leather. There is, however, slight wear on the
driver's side seat piping. Bolster looks great. In the condition
these seats are in. The paint is in good condition, but it has its
share of road chips and a couple of areas with clear coat issues.
Suspension feels very nice and the car handles like its on rails,
since I replaced the original Koni's on the car with new ones. It
also has 50/50 weight distribution and is tons of fun in the
corners.
