Vehicle Description
This 1974 Chevrolet Camaro Z/28 restomod gives you a classic Z-car
for the modern era. So while the outside has the vintage style you
love, the interior has all the right modern amenities you'll love.
And the engine bay not only has a fuel-injected LS1 motor, but
there's also a six-speed and suspension upgrades to let you enjoy
this added power to the fullest.
The trim tag tells us this is a real-deal Z/28, and so the exterior
makes sure to get the attitude right. The white paint is an
upgrade, and with only 3,200 miles on the whole build, it has a
good loss of a quality application. This makes for a nice
background for all the black elements, like the chin spoiler,
headlight buckets, and grille. And of course, there's the full
black stripe package, and the '74 Z/28 had arguably one of the most
distinct sets ever. This looks awesome right down to details like
the red outlines and how the Z/28 callout appears on the back of
the three-piece spoiler. Another thoughtful piece is the wheel
package. They have the look of the year-correct Rally wheels, but
they are really modern 17-inch alloys that allow you to fit modern
performance tires.
All the dark accents of the exterior get you ready for the full
black interior. Everything from the carpeting to the dash received
attention during the restoration to make the full package feel
inviting. Some upgrades are a bit subtle, like how the seats are
now a supple leather, the center console makes room for cup
holders, and the climate control now delivers modern R134a air
conditioning. Other upgrades are quite obvious, like the AM/FM/CD
stereo with a USB input for your iPod. They also give you a
terrific driver's environment with a Chevy sports steering wheel on
a tilt column, a Hurst shifter, and a full Dakota Digital gauge
package glowing in blue.
Under the hood is a nicely installed LS1 V8. This 5.7-liter motor
keeps the classic Z-car's displacement, but this fuel-injected
powerhouse is a huge upgrade in technology and power. They even
upgraded this one further with a Texas Speed cam, JLT cold air
intake, carbon fiber intake, Edelbrock throttle body, and a nice
set of headers feeding the X-pipe dual exhaust. You've even got the
right supporting components, like an MSD coil pack and an aluminum
radiator with electric fans. You get full control of this enhanced
power package thanks to the six-speed manual transmission. As you
look underneath the car, you'll notice upgrades like the CPP
tubular A-arms, subframe connectors, QA1 rear shocks, rear sway
bar, and a Trick Flow diff cover. Add in power steering, ZR-rated
tires, and power brakes with Wilwood front discs, and you have a
terrific restomod total package.
Sleek, loaded, and seriously powerful - this is a well-done Z/28
restomod. So don't let it go into someone else's garage, call
