Vehicle Description
The second-generation Corvette might just be one of the best cars
ever created. With plenty of power and striking good looks, these
Chevys are extremely fun to drive, inspiring a cult-like following
and providing one of the most enjoyable ownership experiences on
the planet. This stunning C2 pro-tourer is an amazing classic
that's ready for years of endless cruising thanks to a custom
chassis, tastefully upgraded aesthetics and 525 horses of Chevrolet
Performance small block! Looking to put some killer American muscle
in your garage? Check out this phenomenal Vette!
ATTIRE IS FORMAL
A head-turning collector car that's been massaged into a
jaw-dropping pro-tourer, this smashing Sting Ray is the product of
a professional, ground-up restoration that was completed by Tony's
Muscle Cars of Sugarloaf, Pennsylvania. That top-notch build is
capped by a sinuous and equally solid body, which reflects a deep
coat of rich Tuxedo Black two-stage. And that body bends a buff
canvas for a wide array of both custom and traditional details.
The car's timeless charm begins with polished 'razor blade'
bumpers, which split small driving lamps and a stainless 'egg
crate' grille. Above that grille, electric Detroit Speed headlights
join a '67 header emblem to lead a requisite Stinger Hood, which
fronts polished wipers and tinted, stainless-trimmed glass. A cloth
soft top complements a factory hardtop over factory door handles,
1967 fender louvers and 1965 "FUEL INJECTION" badging. A classy
driver's mirror reflects a chrome-trimmed fuel filler over a
polished tag pocket, monochromatic taillights and two more 'razor
blade' bumpers. And all that five star flash is set off by a bright
red Stinger Stripe and red-trimmed rocker guards.
NEW AGE POWER
Tilt this Vette's aggressive hood and you'll find 6.2 liters of
divine GM small block that's officially known as the LS376/525.
Purchased directly from Chevrolet Performance, that trusty mill
twists respectable 10.7 to 1 compression into 525 horsepower and
486 lb./ft. of torque. At the top of the block, a conical filter
slinks breeze into a polished tube, which fronts a proven GM
throttle body. That drive-by-wire unit feeds a lightweight GM
intake, which splits rectangular-port L92-style heads. A nodular
crank, powdered connecting rods and hypereutectic pistons compress
that volatile union. A hydraulic ASA cam utilizes high-rate valve
springs to maximize intake efficiency. Speaking of breathing, that
smooth valvetrain funnels spent gases through factory LS exhaust
manifolds. There's a massive aluminum radiator that's slid in front
of a big Syclone puller fan. Polished serpentine components spin a
polished, Vintage Air-branded alternator opposite a polished AC
compressor. Everything communicates well thanks to a Chevrolet
Performance ECU. A color-keyed intake shroud looks great between
modern Corvette fuel rail covers. And, as you likely deduced from
our high-resolution photos, the Cast Aluminum mill rolls in a
clean, Tuxedo Black frame that's finished with niceties like a
smoothed firewall, proven GM plug wires and polished The Right
Stuff Detailing brake components.
TOUR IN STYLE
Park this pro-tourer on a lift and you'll find a thoughtfully
upgraded undercarriage that's prepped, primed and ready to roar! A
fresh 4L65E 4-speed kicks a posi-traction Dana 44 differential.
That fourth-generation Corvette pumpkin pushes a fourth-generation
Corvette rear-clip, which rolls as an integral part of a
powder-coated SRIII Motorsports chassis. Modern power
rack-and-pinion steering leads a fifth-generation Corvette
front-clip. At the corners of that fully independent suspension, a
quartet of power-assisted Corvette calipers cinches a quartet of
drilled and slotted rotors in front of double-adjustable Viking
coil-overs. Aluminized pipes funnel fried dinos through an H-shaped
crossover, throaty Magnaflow mufflers and polished stainless tips.
And at the corners of the car, ZR1-style wheels throw torque
through 245/45ZR18 General G-MAX radials.
UPGRADES WITH PURPOSE
Pop the lightweight doors and you'll find a tasteful custom
interior that continues this Sting Ray's striking visuals. Front
and center, fifth-generation Corvette buckets sport vivid red
leather. Ahead of those seats, a lightly modified dash hangs crisp
Dakota Digital telemetry above modern, direct-fit audio. A shallow
console frames a trick shifter in front of a color-keyed armrest
and chromed power window switches. Fade-free door panels complement
fade-free carpet. The driver spins an attractive,
cross-flag-branded wheel around a polished, tilting column. And
everything stays cool thanks to quality Vintage Air climate
control.
Storming the market over 68 years ago, America's favorite sports
car remains some of the hottest performance on the planet. This
brilliant pro-tourer is a world-class custom that features a potent
drivetrain, a modern suspension and many well-executed details that
make it the perfect combination of show and go. There really isn't
a better hobby on earth than owning a classic car, and driving this
striking drop-top is the perfect way to celebrate that hobby!
