Tough Trucks €" 1965 Dodge Truck magazine advertisement The
advertising copy continued: Tough pickups are hard to find. Look
out for them where the roads aren't. Dodge builds 'em tough. The
drivers treat 'em rough. And we stand behind that engine and
drivetrain for 5 years or 50,000 miles. It's something like
guaranteeing a fighter will go 25 rounds. Dodge toughness doesn't
cost any more. Why settle for less? The 1961-71 Dodge Truck Website
detailed some of the changes for 1965: In spring 1965, Dodge Power
Wagon Pickups received the same appearance changes that were made
to the standard-duty trucks. A new, single headlight grille covered
the front end while a longer wheelbase and more versatile box
revamped the rear end of the trucks. Offered here is a 1965 Dodge
Power Wagon 4-door crew-cab 4WD pickup in refreshed orange over
black-and-white. As part of its refresh, the truck has been lifted.
Purchased new at Beckett Dodge in Rockford, Michigan (and still
wearing that dealer's sticker), the truck's current mileage shown
is 13,968. With the exception of the installed aftermarket wheels
(un-mounted original steel wheels are included in the sale), the
Power Wagon is all original. The exterior orange body paint has
been professionally applied and retains excellent gloss and
consistent finish across all body panels, including the cargo box
and tailgate. The truck's body panels, notably including the
extended roof over the second row of seats, and the handsomely
sculpted cab and cargo-box side panels, are free of dents or other
damage. Cream-colored front grille and white bumpers fore and aft
are in perfect condition. (To best assess the quality of the paint
and trim finishes, be sure to view the close-up photographs of the
car in the accompanying gallery.) Cabin glass and all lighting
lenses are original, clear, and undamaged. Factory
badging-including D-o-d-g-e hood lettering, Power Wagon lettering
on the sides of the hood, Dodge 200 front-fender badges (with small
Chrysler Penta-star insignia below), and white-painted Dodge
embossed tailgate lettering-is all properly in place. Limited body
chrome-on door handles, side mirrors, headlight trim, and fuel
cap-has all been well-maintained with excellent shine and no dings
or dents. Aftermarket XTrema®, 17-inch chrome wheels are mounted
with Xtrema all-terrain LT305/65/R17 tires. Front-locking hubs are
standard. (Four additional 18-inch, white-painted steel wheels and
tires are included with the sale.) The orange body paint continues
inside on the dashboard and door panels (with white-painted
inserts). Cabin floors are covered with black rubber matting and
seats are upholstered in black patterned vinyl with white side
trim. The stock, black 3-spoke steering wheel with Dodge-logo
center frames a utilitarian instrument cluster set in turned-metal
trim on the orange dash. An aftermarket air conditioning unit is
mounted below the dash. A dash-mounted plate shows the
floor-mounted transfer-case operation. The shift lever for the
3-speed manual transmission is mounted on the steering column. A
fire extinguisher is mounted on the passenger-side of the
compartment. Under the hood, the 318-cubic-inch, 200-horsepower V8
wears its original paint and markings and a chrome, open-sided air
cleaner. The engine bay is clean and properly organized. Viewed
from below, the chassis is straight, complete,
