Bronco: A History of Ford's Legendary 4x4, Todd Zuercher. Ford.com
describes the last of the big Broncos: In addition to its several
key safety innovations, the fifth (and final, for years to come)
generation of Bronco was famously easy on the eyes. This latecomer
to the fold featured a more aerodynamic design, plus a host of
other stylish updates, both inside and out. Dubbed the 'Original
Body Style (OBS)' by Bronco insiders, Generation 5 boasted cleaner
lines-particularly on the front end-than earlier series. Designers
further enhanced the aerodynamics, which included streamlined
exterior mirrors. Accentuating its fresh profile, Bronco came with
an exciting, new collection of paint colors and
combinations-rumored to be some of the most stunning of its 30-year
run. Offered here is a 1994 Ford Bronco Eddie Bauer Edition in
Royal Blue metallic over tan with an ivory fiberglass roof. Long
owned in Oregon, the SUV's odometer shows 167,705 miles,
approximately 6,200 miles per-year since new. The Bronco's overall
condition inside and out is very clean for its age. Proper
servicing through the years and owner pride account for its
impressive, well-preserved state. The Bronco's original,
factory-applied Royal Blue metallic paint-and its lower-body tan
paint, ivory-color fiberglass roof, and bodyside pinstripe-show
well with no significant damage. (There are surface areas with
light patina, and the hood has experienced some fading and
clearcoat delamination on the driver's side.) The rich
dark-blue-and-tan combination was among the most-favored color
choices of the five offered in the Eddie Bauer optional trim
package. (To best assess the quality of the paint and trim
finishes, be sure to view the close-up photographs of the car in
the accompanying gallery.) Body-panel fit is straight and at or
above factory specifications. The accident-free Carfax is borne out
by the absence of any evidence of body-panel damage. Chrome
trim-including the desirable, last-of-the-big-Broncos grille, as
well as bumpers, and side-view mirrors-remains in excellent
condition, with the door handles showing light patina from normal
use. The brushed-metal trim piece on the tailgate is free of dents
or dings often seen. The spare tire is mounted on a swing-away rear
carrier. Ford-oval emblems fore and aft remain mounted, as do
Bronco Eddie Bauer front-fender emblems. Cabin glass and lighting
lenses are clear and free of cracks. The Bronco has been slightly
lifted. Factory-style, 8-hole chrome wheels (with 4x4 center caps)
are mounted with newer oversize Maxxis® Razr MT all-terrrain tires.
Inside, the tan interior shows similarly well. Styled door trim,
including the lower carped surfaces, is free of unusual wear. Tan
cabin and cargo-area carpeting is in generally well-maintained
condition (with soiling noted in the rear-seat area), as is the
original leather upholstery on the front bucket seats with armrests
(and Eddie Bauer® logos embroidered on the front-seat headrests).
The removable, foldable rear bench leather shows some compression
indentations from being folded. Front seat cushions appear to be
replacements, and the driver's seat back shows wear from regular
use. The black steering wheel (with driver's airbag) frames a
complete analog instrument cluster (including tachometer, part of
