For Sale: 1947 Ford Pickup in Lutz, Florida

Vehicle Description

World War II was barely a memory when this 1947 Ford pickup came off the line. In fact, it represents one of the first full model years for civilian production. But while that history has been stamped into the sheet metal, you like this one for a very different reason. It's a full custom build with a detailed paint theme, custom interior, and even a V8 under the hood.

These are pre-war style trucks made for a brief post-war period...that's what makes these great classics. Of course, what you see here is far from an old-style original. It takes this American hero and transforms it into a very enjoyable American hot rod. The attitude starts with the two-tone red and black, and it has the right aged-in look for a matte finish. Plus, there are a ton of old-school hot rod details, including the frenched headlights, a custom grille, a louvered hood, dual spotlights, dual side-mounted spares, blue dot tail lights, nerf bar rear bumpers, and custom exhaust tips. And of course, there's a ton of custom pinstriping. It highlights the headlights, fenders, windshield sunshade, bed, tailgate, and just about every angle of this all-steel truck. There's even a full custom hot rod shop graphic on each door. This truck loves to show off added details everywhere from the real wood under the tonneau cover to the steel wheel with pinstriping and two-piece trim. So it will really be hard to find anything that gets any more custom than this Ford.

The detailed individual style continues inside. The full red and black is carried into the interior with the seats, door panels, and even the floor mats. And there's plenty of derailed pinstriping, too. This one wants to really upgrade the comfort over what you had in the 1940s. So now there are contoured bucket seats with headrests, a cup holder center console, an upgraded heater, 12-volt outlets, and an AM/FM/CD stereo with aux input. You also have a sports steering wheel, a tilt column, and a full set of AutoMeter gauges for a better driver.

Under the hood is an Oldsmobile 260 cubic-inch V8, but the look of that custom painted air grabber will make people think you have a true 1950s Olds hot rod powerhouse. So you get the appearance of vintage but a much younger heart. A Cutlass not only gave its motor but also its independent front suspension and three-speed automatic transmission. So this one is set up for true cruising. That's why you also have power steering, power brakes, and front discs.

Complete with maintenance records, this is where significant sheet metal meets a full custom attitude. So if you're looking for a true classic that's also a true custom, call today!
