Vehicle Description
A real-deal 1971 Chevrolet Camaro Z/28 is a classic that will
always be in demand. But when it has been restored to have plenty
of added power on the streets and look boldly fantastic when you
park it, then you know this is the turn-key deal that won't stay
with us long.
This car has been under the same care for over two decades. During
the beginning of the ownership, there was a color change to the
bold yellow you see today. The outstanding gloss and shine you see
today is a testament to the high degree of respect it has seen
under this long-term care. And the clean lines, straight body, and
bright bumpers reaffirm this feeling. The trim tag tells us this is
a real-deal Z/28, and so it has earned those black racing stripes
painted on top. Plus, the chin spoiler and blackout grille give
this an attractive dark side against the vibrant yellow. The rear
spoiler, correct badging, and Z/28 mag wheels give this the right
classic performance look. But those color-matched yellow traction
bars peeking out from under the car and the wide Mickey Thompson
tires tell you that this Z-car is going to be far from stock.
The interior is a great mix of vintage and upgraded. In fact, the
front seats show it all perfectly. These are the classic low-back
units borrowed from the previous year, but they have been recovered
to give you a comfy velour. The door panels, carpeting, dash, and
headliner all have a good look of quality. Even the dome light is
working. But the best pieces inside are what make this a better
driver's coupe. You have an upgraded sports steering wheel, a Year
One instrument cluster with large speedo and tach, an auxiliary
gauge package in the center console, and your right hand will be
instantly attracted to the Hurst shifter. So while there's an
upgraded AM/FM/cassette stereo, we really know our favorite
soundtrack comes from what's under the hood.
The dark inner walls of the engine bay funnel your attention to the
awesome V8 in the center. So while this keeps the correct 350
cubic-inch displacement for a Z/28, you can really see this is a
fully built powerhouse. It includes TRW forged pistons, an Eagle
forged crank, Crane Cams camshaft, a Carter fuel pump, Milodon deep
sump pan, cast valve covers, and an HEI ignition. It inhales deeply
with a Holley 750 four-barrel carburetor and an aluminum intake. It
exhales with authority as the Hooker Competition headers feed the
dual exhaust and Flowmaster mufflers. Best of all, the four-speed
manual transmission gives you full control over it all. Eaton
forged rear axles, traction bars, and a 4.11 ratio means you're
unbeatable off the line. Plus, with power steering, power brakes,
front discs, this is a great coupe to handle the streets.
Complete with owner's manual, this is the Z/28 with all your
favorite investments already made. So if you love power and poise,
