This 1978 Chevrolet C10 Silverado is highly original, right down to
its two-tone style and V8 power. But as you look over the whole
truck, you can also see the right custom upgrades that let this
pickup be a great classic cruiser.
The Cordova Brown and Buckskin tan show all the right signs of
being the original application. It has a clean and complete look
while also having the kind of weathered appearance that helps tell
its story. The chrome bumpers have the right hint of patina, the
bed reminds you a true truck is a useful friend, and the full
Silverado trim separates the intricate two-tone along the body and
roof. So this has all the right personality to be a great

seatbacks and textured inserts on the door panels. In fact, there
are more great stock details, like the Delco AM/FM radio and
working dome light. There are just the right hints of upgrades,
like the tinted windows, rugged rubber floor mats, and the factory
A/C has been converted to R134a (it will need a belt and possibly
servicing/parts to blow cold again.) But since this is a true
classic pickup, we bet your favorite feature will be the sliding
rear glass. After all, the breezes flowing through the cab have a
cool old-school feel.
The engine bay has plenty of newer investments, but at the heart of
it all is the numbers-matching 350 cubic-inch V8 block. It has been
built for added power with an Edelbrock four-barrel carburetor, an
Edelbrock intake, and headers feeding into the dual exhaust. There
are also black Chevrolet cast valve covers, a matching air grabber,
and an aluminum radiator w/electric fans. It makes for a solid
power package. And the three-speed automatic transmission, power
steering, power brakes, front discs, and modern sport tires really
make for a great cruiser.
