Check out this sharp 1969 Chevelle SS currently available at
LaFontaine Classic Cars. This iconic model year has been called one
of the best muscle cars of all time thanks to its beautiful body
lines, available horsepower, and the mid-size platform making it
perfect for the family, a boulevard cruiser, or all out race
car.
This blue beauty sports the side "SS" stripes in contrasting black,
stretching the length of the car differentiating the appearance of
the "SS" and the standard Malibu. The "SS 396" badging/emblems are
in their correct locations from the front grill to the rear tail
panel, paint is a great driver quality as it has been resprayed
some time ago and now revealing a few minor imperfections, the
chrome bumpers look and shine like new along with the chrome door
handles. The stainless moldings and trim look good along with the
front and rear light bezels and lenses. Underneath you will find a
very clean and solid floor pan, the full-length frame looks great -
no signs of rust or cracks, and stock suspension components remain
intact as designed by Chevrolet.
The interior looks incredible - refinished in factory trim color
Black, featuring new vinyl recovered bucket seats, door panels and
rear side panels, as well as headliner and original style matching
formed carpet. The dash pad is in great condition with the
stainless steel and black "SS 396" trim section just below it on
the passenger side. The chrome window cranks and door handles are
all in great condition with the added wood grain steering wheel for
a little style and contrast. Optional equipment on this classic
includes: Power steering, power front disc brakes (standard
equipment on "SS" models in '69), AM/FM radio, factory style 14x7
"Super Sport" rally wheels with "SS" center caps and correct
stainless trim rings, all wrapped with modern-classic BFGoodrich
Radial T/A tires measuring 245/60/14 on all 4 corners.
A look under the hood reveals the 396 cubic inch power plant with
oval port cylinder heads, Rochester Quadrajet 4-barrel carburetor
with integral choke, bolted to the cast iron factory Chevrolet
intake manifold. Pumping the gas pedal a couple of times, then a
twist of the ignition key and the 396 big block comes to life with
the functional choke monitoring the idle until the temps allow it
to idle on its own. Transferring the power rearward is a GM 700R4
4-speed automatic transmission with overdrive to reduce engine RPM
at cruising speeds, allowing the use of higher gear ratios for
improved acceleration.
Don't miss out on this opportunity to own this great looking, great
performing, piece of muscle car history - this one won't last long.
