Vehicle Description
What happens when you take a timeless Chevrolet body, bolt it to a
custom chassis, drop in a modern Chevrolet V8 and pile on a list of
mind-blowing parts? You get one incredible classic that instantly
becomes the center of attention wherever it goes! Featuring a cool
custom appearance, a custom leather interior, and a level of detail
that requires multiple looks to fully comprehend, this sweet Bel
Air is a compilation of top-notch components from some of the
biggest names in the business. And what's better: it's a fully
sorted cruiser that was built, above all else, to be driven and
enjoyed. If you're the kind of enthusiast who wants an impressive
ride that you can hop in, turn the key and sail some blacktop with,
your chariot has arrived!
MORE TRICK THAN TRADITIONAL
Professionally restored by the pros at Prospect Hill, North
Carolina's L&S Customs, this sweet Bel Air Post is a refreshing
take on a storied classic. Naturally, a head-turning profile needs
head-turning paint, which manifested as exceptional Jet Black and
Copper Metallic two-stage. And today, this legendary Chevy rolls as
one razor-sharp road rocket that's poised to show and raring to
go!
As a collector car enthusiast, you really can't go wrong with any
'50s Chevy. But many folks cherish the unfailing swagger of the
division's '55 model. At the front of this double-nickel,
stainless-trimmed lamps lead a polished grille above a shaved
bumper. At the top of that grille, a shaved and stainless-trimmed
hood fronts polished wipers, which clear a smoked and
stainless-trimmed greenhouse. At the base of that glass, a tidy
profile leads tasteful quarter spears with factory door handles.
And at the back of the car, a shaved trunk shades a shaved Nomad
bumper between cool, Buick-style taillights.
SMALL BLOCK TREAT
Peer into this classic's custom engine bay and you'll find 5.7
liters of professionally dressed LS1 that twists solid power into
effortless torque. Straight from GM, this fully-sorted package
combines a sturdy aluminum block with coil-near-plug ignition and
aluminum flat top pistons to create razor sharp throttle response
and lightning quick acceleration. At the front of the engine, a
conical filter funnels breeze through a factory throttle body
that's cinched to a painted factory intake. Upgraded heads cap
stock internals, which spin an upgraded cam behind a polished March
serpentine drive. Those pulleys turn modern power steering below a
polished alternator and a polished AC compressor. High octane
fossils are juiced by GM electronic fuel injection and sparked by
predictable GM plug wires. Spent gases traverse ceramic-coated
long-tube headers. Cooling comes courtesy of a polished Griffin
radiator, which hangs spry puller fans behind a color-keyed
aftermarket support. And not a detail has been missed in this
Chevy's Copper Metallic engine bay, with items like a polished oil
cap and polished fluid reservoirs complementing niceties like a
polished hood latch and polished hood supports.
RUN WITH THE BEST
Park this Chevy on a lift and you'll find solid floorpans that
reflect a world of aftermarket upgrades in a glowing sheen of
Copper Metallic two-stage. A tough 4L60E 4-speed twists torque to a
glossy axle that spins a posi-traction differential around big,
3.73 gears. Power-assisted rack-and-pinion steering leads a full
Art Morrison chassis, which stacks polished sway bars and polished
control arms around polished spindles and adjustable Strange
coil-overs. At the corners, power-assisted Wilwood calipers clamp a
quartet of drilled and slotted rotors. Charred dinosaurs traverse
polished stainless pipes, which roar through dual-chamber
Flowmaster mufflers. Choice detailing includes stainless hardware,
braided fluid lines and a fabricated fuel tank. And power meets the
pavement through color-keyed Billet Specialties Furys, which spin
245/45ZR17 Nitto NT555 Extreme ZRs in front of 275/40ZR18 Nitto
NT555 Extreme ZRs.
OUTFITTED FOR EXCELLENCE
Behind the solid-closing doors you'll find a custom leather cockpit
that wraps tons of classic flash in miles of modern flair. Stitched
by the pros at Old Fort, North Carolina's Street Seats Hot Rod
Interiors, that kit kicks off with a quartet of thick buckets that
feature tasteful, two-tone hides. In front of those thrones, a
custom, two-tone dash floats modern air conditioning around
sweeping telemetry and pushbutton ignition. Trim carpet sails
sedate mats around billet pedals and a sculpted, full-length
console. That island toggles a polished shifter between custom side
panels and a custom headliner. Billet door handles look great
highlighting polished armrests and a billet rearview mirror. The
driver spins a bowtie-branded Billet Specialties Fury wheel around
a polished, tilting column. And the passengers stow essentials in
an ornate, custom-upholstered trunk.
The product of a detailed, ground-up build that would probably take
a second mortgage to duplicate, this Chevy rolls on the right side
of impressive. It's a highly desirable tri-five that's been
carefully fitted with all the right stuff to be one seriously cool
cruiser. If you're dreaming of the perfect blend of lavish '50s
style and modern, reliable performance, you've found the ultimate
classic!
