Vehicle Description
This 2017 Chevrolet Corvette Z06 Sting Ray is one heck of a car,
check that, it's one heck of a supercar. 700+ supercharged
horsepower to the rear wheels thanks to a professionally built and
tuned 6.2L V8 LT4 with lots of expertly engineered goodies, a
quick-shifting 7-speed manual, a fantastic custom color
combination, all the options you could ask for, and wow, look at
that those incredibly low miles! It's as clean as it was when it
left the factory, but it sure has a lot more pop today. Take a
closer look at this true American exotic, it's a beauty with a
beast's heart underneath.
Born with gorgeous and attention getting Black Rose Metallic paint,
the exterior finish on this exemplary C7 was turned up even further
with the professional application of matte protection film
installed atop the body. And this wasn't some auto parts store
plasti-dip or static-cling material, this was high-end 3M Frosted
Satin material that was expertly laid down by skillful artisans to
the tune of $8K dollars - the cost of a great paint job in most
areas. The result is one exceedingly sharp C7 Corvette coupe - and
this Z06 model has certainly set the bar of expectations very high
in every regard. The entire exterior looks amazing - the finish has
a special appearance that exceeds the curb appeal of any
factory-issue paint that we've ever seen, and it carries no glaring
flaws to detract from the off-the-charts visual impact. The wrap
was just done right, and with so few miles the only blemishes we
can find are a few very minor spots in the film on the lower nose,
but if you ever dislike the matte look you can peel it right off
and enjoy the slick Black Rose Metallic finish underneath that's in
like-new condition after years of being hermetically sealed and
preserved. That slick factory color is previewed in some of the
areas that were left uncovered, including the fender vents, side
mirrors, and outlined borders of the taillights, and the door
jambs. Carbon fiber accents from the Stage 2 aero package add to
the unique look of this show stopper, including the aggressive
ground effects, hood, rear spoiler, rear diffuser, and removable
roof panel, and large front fender vents and special air blades
over the inlets on the rear quarters are insanely cool. Being a
relatively new car that's received consistent sheltering, the
lenses protecting its angular headlights are still crystal clear
and the assortment of badging this '17 wears is in razor sharp
condition as well. The looks of both the signature Corvette logo
looming over the contrasting splitter in front and the positioning
of the close-set quartet of chrome exhaust tips in back are
stellar. The redesigned carbon fiber hood looks very aggressive and
sheds weight, and the mesh-patterned front fascia allows giant
gulps of air to pour into the supercharger. There's also a carbon
fiber removable top that was wrapped just like the hood, meaning
this Sting Ray instantly gives you the exhilaration of driving with
the blue sky straight above you, but with the ease of transitioning
to a sheltered environment as an option as well. Even lovers of the
European exotics had to pay respect to the C7 Z06, and with the
upgraded drivetrain on this monster, they'll be doing so in your
rear view.
Climb inside and you'll see that the highly-optioned Jet Black
interior has been extremely well taken care of as well, with that
"new car" smell and feel still present. There's very little to no
perceptible wear on the surfaces of the leather bucket seats and
all the surrounding components still seem as clean as they did when
this Chevy rolled off the showroom lot. This is an outstanding
driving environment - both in terms of aesthetics and functionality
- and it's surprisingly spacious for a model whose main calling
card is its flat-out performance. The assortment of factory
displays behind the steering wheel illuminate the cabin in blue and
are accompanied by a sizable color touchscreen just to the right
that controls both the AM/FM stereo with its iPod and Bluetooth
connectivity, as well as a navigation system and back-up camera -
always a welcome feature for frequent excursions. The air
conditioning blows cold and strong and offers dual zone climate
control to keep you and your passengers in comfort, everything is
power, and the safety of ABS brakes and multiple airbags provides a
lot of comfort of the mind when you're hammering down the
throttle.
The capabilities of the supercharged 6.2L V8 LT4 that propels this
'Vette certainly makes for exciting driving. Purpose-built to turn
things up to 11, the giant motor features the best of everything GM
has to offer, and with the addition of aftermarket headers, a 21st
CMC custom tune, an AFCO heat exchanger, and a killer exhaust
system, there's more power and torque on tap than almost anyone can
handle. It churns out huge horsepower at the rear wheels,
accompanied by loads of torque to knock you back in your seat, and
pairs with a 7-speed manual transmission geared to take full
advantage of its output while also making highway driving very
enjoyable. The rumble from the exhaust is fantastic, with long-tube
headers feeding a multi-mode custom dual exhaust system that goes
from loud to very loud. Traction and electronic stability control
and magnetic ride suspension team with a road hugging stance and
smooth power steering to provide world class handling, while Brembo
4-wheel power disc brakes with supersized rotors that come via this
Corvette's big-dog status bring the set of staggered blacked-out
alloy wheels wrapped in Michelin rubbers (19-inch front and 20-inch
rear) to lightning quick stops when called upon.
An outstanding blend of modern engineering and timeless aesthetics,
