Everyone knows the Chevelle of the Muscle car era, and there is no
denying that the 1970 is the most favored of the second generation
cars built from 1968-1972. There is also no denying that adding the
SS option package, a 402 Cubic Inch V8 rated at 350 HP and a
4-speed Muncie manual transmission definitely add to the allure. GR
AUTO GALLERY OF TC is very pleased to present this absolute killer
two owner car...Yes, this Chevelle SS has been owned by the
consignor since 1977 when he purchased the car at age sixteen. The
car was last titled in 1981 when the car went in to his name solo.
He paid $500 for the car plus tax and plate. The bank ledger
indicating the date and total price is pictured here as well. This
car has never been really tampered with other than one re-spray in
1989/90 at which time the car was painted to its original color of
Cranberry. The body panels appear to be original except for a GM
replacement driver side rear quarter and some metal work on the
lower passenger side rear quarter. I had asked the seller if he
knew if he knew of the build sheet or if he had it. He said he did
not know but the interior to his knowledge had never been out of
the car and is 100% original. Guess what? I took the rear seats out
and guess what I found? yes, the build sheet. I did not remove it
because it is wedged around the outside of the frame with the
upholstery stapled around it. The engine number on top of the pad
is 11211CTX indicating a 402-4 barrell with 4-speed. Trans is a
P0T02A indicating a Muncie. This is a Cranberry over saddle bucket
car that starts, runs, sounds, shifts and goes down the road like
it should. This thing gets all the looks in addition to commanding
big bucks for numbers matching cars. Please inquire within with any
questions.
