Vehicle Description
This 1955 Ford Crown Victoria has a fantastic 50s look and was in
the hands of the same collector for the past 45 years. In 1955,
Ford completely redesigned its product offerings. The new Fords had
flatter hoods, wider and longer bodies, and wraparound windshields.
Gone was the Crestline, replaced with the new top-of-the-line
Fairlane which was named after the Ford Family's Fair Lane Estate
in Michigan. Also debuting in 1955 was the Crown Victoria with its
non-structural chrome band across the roof. The Crown Vic, which
was the rarest Fairlane body style in '55, came in 2 different
varieties, the standard solid top and the "Skyliner" glass top.
This particular '55 Crown Victoria comes to us from a Southern
based collector who owned for the past 45 years. Under the hood on
this '55 Ford is a 272 Cubic Inch V8 engine paired with a single 2
barrel carburetor that pushed out 162 horsepower in its day. Dual
exhaust gives this Crown Victoria a nice throaty sound as well.
Anybody can take this classic 50s Ford for a cruise since the 272
V8 is hooked up to an Automatic Transmission. This '55 Crown
Victoria is also equipped with Power Steering which makes getting
in and out of those tight spaces much easier, and improves on the
overall drivability of this classic car. Sitting on Wide Whitewall
Bias Ply Tires with Full Wheelcovers, this Ford has a classic 50s
look. The exterior on this '55 Crown Vic has been refinished in a
beautiful two-tone paint scheme comprised of Torch Red and Snowshoe
White. The Red and White Vinyl Interior complements the exterior
look and it is in very nice shape. The dash, door panels, and
steering wheel all have a great look to them and appear to be in
their stock configuration. The dash is equipped with a transparent
120 MPH speedometer, temperature gauge, fuel gauge, heater
controls, a stock AM radio, and clock, and an aftermarket
AM/FM/Cassette entertainment system is neatly tucked under the dash
as well. Whether you're looking for your very first classic car or
you're looking for another one to take cruising, this 1955 Ford
Crown Victoria would be a wonderful choice. Give us a call
