Vehicle Description
This 1962 Chevrolet Corvette Restomod was built to be sleeker, more
comfortable, and all-out powerful. So check out every detail,
including the supercharged LSA motor, modern A/C interior, fully
independent suspension, and all the other elements that tell you
this is the perfect mix of award-winner and back-road burner.
With a total restoration/transformation finished less than 900
miles ago, this car doesn't try for a moment to hide its
uniqueness. The black is a high-gloss finish, and it loves to
announce this is a custom car by the hint of burgundy metallic
flake that gives it a unique radiance. This final-year
first-generation Corvette was the right one to receive this speedy
makeover. After all, the body retains the iconic design lines that
made the Corvette America's sports car. But the '62 car evolved
with a less fussy front end, sporty ducktail rear, and a wide
grille that looks like it wants to inhale lesser sports cars. Like
any good 1960s machine there was plenty of brightwork. Everything
from the intricate form-fitting split bumpers, to the delicate trim
that runs the full length of the front fender - it all has the
mirror-like quality of serious investment. While those all tell you
this is a great classic, the polished Grand Sport style 18-inch
wheels, crystal clear headlights, and quad exhaust tips all
announce this is a specially built machine. But we didn't have to
tell you about any of that, because the hood already gives you a
window into the soul of this beastly restomod (more in that in a
moment.)
The black hardtop gives this the profile of a sleek coupe, but
really, this one was made for top-off enjoyment. After all, there's
just something special about the combination of a sleek black on
the outside and an aggressive red on the inside. So we know this
one will get your heart racing every time you approach it with the
top down. This is the right look for the classic C1, but you'll
notice the richer leather of the seats, the high gloss paint across
the lower dash, and the thick pile of the carpeting. So it's
exactly what you want in a restomod: a vintage feeling with a finer
execution. More than just look fantastic, there are plenty of great
modern upgrades like the retro-style AM/FM stereo, power windows,
full Dakota Digital gauge package, and a modern leather-wrapped
sports steering wheel made to look like the classic C1 unit. And
the boost gauge at the base of the center stack is a sure sign of
something special. Best of all, there's ice-cold modern R134a air
conditioning, so you can stay cool while looking cool with the top
down all summer long.
While the hood is specially done to give everyone a preview of this
car's powerhouse, we know you won't be able to resist lifting the
hood and showing off the full engine bay. It's the perfect mix of
style and substance with the tidy red and black presentation that
makes this car look like they couldn't fit any more power under the
hood. It's a fuel-injected 6.2-liter Supercharged LSA motor. These
are known for delivering 550+ horsepower, and doing it with the
kind of ease of an everyday driver. It was installed correctly,
right down to an aluminum radiator w/electric fan. We even have
about $10k in receipts invested since 2020 for detailed maintenance
items. Handling all this extra power is GM's stout 4L65E four-speed
automatic transmission w/overdrive. Out on the road, this handles
like no C1 that you know. It's a fresh boxed steel chassis with a
fresh C4-style fully independent suspension. So it's strong and
nimble. Plus, the power steering, four-wheel power disc brakes, and
Michelin Pilot sport tires give this first-generation car some very
modern moves.
There is a different caliber of custom car. It's the kind where
every inch has been detailed to be equal parts amazing driver and
award winner. This is obviously that kind of upper-echelon machine.
