A sleeker exterior, a vibrant interior, and the right investments
under the hood instantly make this one a stand-out. And a 1974
Datsun 260Z is a distinct single-year coupe. So you have the right
mix of a true classic car that you can also truly enjoy.
The market for Japanese vintage cars is really starting to hit its
stride, and since the 260Z was only imported for one year, this one
will always have distinction. It's even said to be a car that spent
most of its life thus far in the southwest. But you like this for
more than just its history. There has been a nice investment in
making this a cool driver-ready coupe. It has been customized to be
sleeker with the older-style form-hugging bumper, deleted rear
bumper, and shaved badging. It has been fully resprayed in a nice
shade of gray. The finish has a nice gloss to show off the iconic
sports car lines, and at the same time, it's durable enough that
it's right for responsible enjoyment. It's even sitting on polished
slotted mag wheels for the right look of a car that's both vintage
and upgraded.
There have been more of the right investments inside. The full red
package is an upgrade later in life. It looks particularly nice in
the high-back bucket seats. It makes for both a bold and
comfortable setup. The factory air conditioning is still in place
(it likely just needs an R134a upgrade and charge.) This continues
the tradition of a true driver's car with a wood-rimmed sports
steering wheel, a center console with four-speed floor shift, and
the full gauges package, and nicely recessed gauges taking a
prominent placement on the dash.
But what really made these cars so great was under the hood. The
260Z had a newly enlarged 2.6-liter inline-six that could rev like
a European, but it built a reputation for reliability never seen
before. That reputation is enhanced on this one with upgrades like
the N47 aluminum head and dual SU carburetors by the master at Z
Therapy. The result is a car that has an unmistakable vintage
sound, but it fires up and ticks through the gears with the kind of
confidence not felt in many other coupes approaching the 50-year
mark. The same can be said for the nimble steering thanks to newer
shocks, sports springs, newer suspension bushings, and power front
disc brakes.
The sale comes complete with the owner's manual, maintenance
records, service manuals, front splitter, and rear bumper. This is
a distinct classic coupe with a terrific driving attitude. So you
know you don't want to miss this deal. Call today!!!
