1965 Ford Mustang Convertible / Original 289ci / 200hp C-code 2bbl engine
Built on April 6th,1965 for the Boston district, this car remained in the Cumberland R.I. area its entire life. The current family (Father/Daughter) purchased this car in 1967 and due to the passing of her dad, his daughter still owns this car today.
During its 55 year family history, this car was used sparingly, only leaving the town of Cumberland on two short occasions. Eugene, was a high-school school teacher who worked and lived in Cumberland R.I. his entire life until his passing a few years ago. This very special car was then passed on to his daughter, the current owner.
The car was very well taken care of its entire life and is all original with very few exceptions. As a primary means of transportation back in the 60s & 70s, rain, sleet and snow could not stop this school teacher and his car. The weather did take its toll on the undercarriage however, a full replacement of the entire undercarriage was completed in 2017. New fuel tank, new floors and front end were all replaced as well as brake and fuel lines (see photos) All body panels are original and always rust free. The paint was also refinished in its factory original color (Ivy Green) in 2017. Today, the car is beautiful. The interior seating is in excellent condition and we believe it to be original. The dashboard is crystal clear and Everything works as it should. The power top is new and works perfectly.
The engine is the original 289ci 200hp (c-code) 2bbl and the mileage is actual at just 33149. The electronic ignition is an upgrade to the original for easy starting and running. The car runs perfectly and needs nothing. Tires and brakes are 80% or better. There is a boot included with the convertible top. These photos were taken during the NYS December Winter where stretching the boot to fit properly could result in damage.
There is a expertly organized 2" file of maintenance and repair records. They are all from the same local service station who he trusted with his 1965 Mustang Convertible
