In 1954 at GM Motorama, GM desginers and engineers unveiled a
uniquely designed 2-door wagon to the public to gauge their
reaction to the bold design. Consumers loved the car, tagged as one
of Harley Earl's "dream cars". Instead of developing an entirely
new model line to support the wagon, Chevrolet, using the existing
popularity of the Bel Air name, presented the Nomad as the Bel Air
Nomad - a wagon for those looking for more space in their Bel Air.
The wagon was a hit and would continue production on and off until
1972.
This 1957 Nomad is nothing short of spectacular. The result of a
high-end frame-off restoration, this wagon's exterior gleams with a
show finish in turquoise and white. Driving with a correct 283ci
V8, an automatic transmission, power steering and power brakes,
this Nomad is an outstanding car to drive. Factory air-conditioning
rounds out what is an iconic car in outstanding restored condition.
Front to back, outside to inside, this Nomad defines a truly
high-end tri-five. Investment level Nomads like this are not often
available.
Unless otherwise stated, mileage shown on odometer is exempt and
