Vehicle Description
Those who love the best in American muscle look for Baldwin-Motion
cars. That's why we're so happy to see this well-done 1970
Chevrolet Camaro Baldwin-Motion tribute. It has the big power and
distinct style that lives up to the legend.
Baldwin-Motion is mentioned in the same breath as Yenko or Nickey
in the Chevrolet communities. This hallowed performance car name
only produced a handful of originals, which means buying one today
will require forgoing a large home... and it'll make you nervous
every time it leaves the garage. So the obvious solution is the
Camaro you see here. It grabs attention with its bold yellow, but
what we really love is the iconic full striping package that came
from ordering your Camaro through Motion Performance via Baldwin
Chevrolet. The hallmark side harpoons look like they are prodding
the car forward. And the way it wraps around the back and there's
also a full hood strip all give it the thoughtful style that showed
off how the Baldwin-Motion cars were truly specialty machines. And
lovers of details will like how the stripes are a large investment
because they are painted on and not decals. Plus, the metallic
color pays tribute to the car's original Shadow Gray color. Those
15-inch slotted mag wheels are a terrific kind of upgrade because
it was the kind of thing that went on a Saturday night king like
this, and the larger rear tires give it a terrific stance. You also
get all the best classic 2nd gen Camaro updates, like the
split-bumper Rally Sport front end and the optional three-piece
Z/28 style rear spoiler. So this one really knows how to show off
its full performance attitude.
The deep, dark interior wants you to know this car immediately gets
down to business. But it also shows off the right vintage attitude.
This is the first year for the 2nd gen Camaro, and so you have the
right low-back bucket seats (a single-year feature) and the
wraparound dash panel with large speedo and tach. And this also has
the right upgrades for a driver's car, like the well-integrated
Summit auxiliary gauge trio and a grippy chrome sports steering
wheel.
There's plenty of polish in the engine bay, because after all, a
Baldwin-Motion machine always has a special motor. So you're going
to want to show it off. This Chevy 350 cubic-inch small block is a
later center bolt head version, and we're even told it has been
built into a 383 stroker V8. It's not hard to believe that claim
considering the power it puts down. There's an Edelbrock
four-barrel carburetor, aluminum intake, and headers. Plus, the
mild cam gives this the right pep and a great tune out of the dual
exhaust. We even have the dyno sheet showing this a powerful setup
making 342 horsepower and 425 ft-lb of torque. This feeds into a
three-speed automatic transmission with a stall to give you the
right powerband. It's a great performance coupe, but it's also
built to be an all-around solid driver. That's why you have power
steering, power brakes, and front discs. There's also a
Positraction rear end built with highway gears.
The sale comes complete with the maintenance records and the dyno
sheet. This Camaro comes with all the admiration of a hallowed
classic American muscle nameplate, and more importantly, there's no
stress when you want to go out and have a little fun. Don't miss
