Vehicle Description
West Coast Classics are proud to present a beautiful example of
this rare 1972 Fiat 500L (Lusso). The car features its air cooled
499cc inline twin cylinder engine matched to its 4 speed manual
transmission and its original Fiat 12" steel wheels, a retractable
black vinyl sunroof and brightwork includes chrome bumpers, dual
side mirrors and window and roof drip rail trim.In September 1968
Fiat put on sale the 500 L or Lusso and about 6 cm (2.4 in) longer
than the 500 F at 3,025 mm (119 in), with a more richly trimmed and
better appointed version of the standard 500 F. Inside the
dashboard was entirely covered in black anti-glare plastic material
instead of being bare painted metal, and was fitted with a new
trapezoid instrument binnacle replacing the round one used on all
other 500 models. The steering wheel was black plastic with metal
spokes. The door cardsupholstered in the same pleated pattern
leatherette used on the seatscarried redesigned and relocated door
handles and new door pockets. More storage space was provided in
the form of a tray on the centre tunnel, which like the rest of the
floor was covered in carpet rather than rubber mats. The 500 L
remained on sale until 1972, when the new Fiat 126 was introduced.
This is a very original and rust free car and a very fine daily
driving example of a 1972 Fiat 500L with all of it's original
factory specifications and options intact and which has been
repainted at some point in the past and which has only very minor
imperfections or flaws in the paintwork and it's all original Black
color seats interior and retractable sunroof are also in very good
condition. The engine is strong and responsive and the 4 speed
manual transmission shifts smoothly through the gears and the
engine temperature always remains cool. This is a rare opportunity
to own a very rare and internationally desirable 1972 Fiat 500L!
