This is a 2002 35th anniversary Camaro SS but it doesn't stop
there. This is 1 of 43 examples made for the 2002 Brickyard 400.
Each car had a special designation code from the factory for this
race. The decals are exclusive for these cars and as you can see on
the hood this car was specifically made for Race legend Bobby
Labonte. This is car #40 and Bobby actually rode in this car around
the track. Each car was placed in their qualifiers position. This
is all original, very low mileage, and a great piece of NASCAR
history.
EXTERIOR: The exterior is in excellent shape. The paint is glossy
and the decals are still very vibrant and pop off the silver paint.
Walking around the car I could not find any sort of wear or tear in
the paint. The wheels are also in excellent shape with no curb rash
and are polished out like new. Even the tires are in like new
condition. The Black convertible soft top is also in excellent
shape! This has a $5,225 option of Cowl air induction hood, 17" SS
wheels, rear SS spoiler and the brickyard 400 package.
INTERIOR: The interior is just as clean as the outside of this pace
car. It's also loaded with just about every option that was
available. The seats are in excellent shape, as well as the dash
and carpet. It even still smells like a new car. This Camaro is
loaded with power options including power windows, mirrors, seats,
and locks. It's also equipped with fog lights, remote hatch
release, and cruise control.
ENGINE COMPARTMENT: Everything is clean under this hood! All the
plastic and hoses shine like new and there are no signs of age.
It's definitely been well cared for. In the engine compartment
you'll find the classic 5.7L LS1 V8 engine that puts out a very
nice 325HP. It's mated to the original 4 speed automatic
transmission.
TRUNK COMPARTMENT: Even being a convertible, the trunk space is
still quite large. It is fully carpeted and very clean. It still
looks to be in like new condition. If you lift the cover you will
find a spare tire and jack hidden underneath - both are unused and
in excellent shape! The trunk is supported by struts that keep it
up without you having to hold it.
UNDERSIDE: Underneath is also very clean and this can be seen by
scrolling through the pictures! There is a little surface rust on
some of the suspension components which is common for a car of this
era. All the bushings appear like new - the struts are still
holding their original bright orange color and the exhaust is still
its stainless shiny color. You'll even see factory markings still
intact on components!
This is an excellent example of a pace car for a collector! Again,
what makes it more unique is that Bobby Labonte actually rode
around the track in this. That by itself makes this a must have for
a NASCAR enthusiast!
A significant amount of effort goes into fact checking. What I am
offering is my professional impression of the vehicle. Our salesmen
are happy to assist with descriptions and making sure your
questions are answered. One great suggestion is letting us do a
walk around video that explains the car's condition in detail.
**These cars are displayed in a museum. If interested in a
particular car make an appointment with a salesman to see that car.
Without an appointment there is an admission fee to enter the
showroom. If you buy a car, your admission will be refunded and you
will be given a 1 year membership.
