CMC is proud to have this legendary 1968 Hurst Oldsmobile in our
showroom. Powered by a very special 455 CI engine producing 390HP,
this muscle car paved the way for all the other big block muscle
cars. With only 515 ever produced and only 162 known to exist in
the Hurst Olds Registry, this is the muscle car to own.
In 1968 GM teamed up with Demmer Engineers to produced the Hurst
Olds and get around the government ban on producing a midsize car
with a 455 CI engine. After 1969, when the Hurst Olds proved to be
successful, government lifted the ban and all 1970 auto
manufactures would be allows to use big CI engines. The Hurst Olds
played a very special part in the muscle car evolution and as a
result of this, the 1968 Hurst Olds is a coveted muscle car.
Our Hurst Olds has had a comprehensive restoration from a very
solid and original car. The paint and body is absolute show
quality. The special 455 CI engine has been professional rebuilt,
and sounds incredible. The car has the coveted D-heads and the full
Ram Air induction system. The engine is backed by the turbo 400
transmission and Positraction rear end. The car is riding on the
correct rally wheels with the correct Goodyear Polyglas whitewall
tires. The interior on the car is the original and is testament to
the originality of the car. All gauges and lights operate as
intended. This Hurst Olds is one of the top muscle cars of its day,
and is a great performer today. The car is fast and handling and
ride quality is great. The Power Disc Brakes bring this powerhouse
to a quick stop. You will be very impressed with the driving
characteristics of this muscle car.
Only 515 1968 Hurst Olds were produced and they were all painted
Peruvian Silver (CODE Z-Z) with black painted strips and black
trunk lid. The interior was code 940 for solid black. Each car has
the own Demmer number and listed in the Hurst Olds Registry. These
