For Sale: 1974 Plymouth Scamp in Lavergne, Tennessee
This 1974 Plymouth Scamp has a distinct Mopar hardtop rarity and
even an A/C interior. But what we really love here is the
performance-built Magnum V8 under the hood that makes sure this
bold coupe brings big power to the streets.
This one has a great vintage attitude. After all, hardtop coupes
are exactly what you want in a muscle machine, and we love that
it's on the Dodge Dart Swinger's rarer sibling. The House of Kolor
Lime Time Green Pearl is a newer application that looks like it
fits with the classic Mo-par High Impact colors. And it makes for a
distinct backdrop for the mean look dark style of the faux dual
hood scoops, blackout grille, and bumblebee tail stripe. The
overall impression of this one is a street machine that's not
afraid of a little Saturday night blacktop fun. And the more you
look at the whole car, you can really tell it was made to be
driven. That just seems like what a muscle Mopar should truly be.
After all, everything from the forward-leaning stance to the glow
of the LED headlights gives this coupe some attitude.
The sea of green continues inside. There are plenty of cool classic
details, including the two wide rows of bench seats (with newer
seat covers,) green thick pile carpeting, wood-like trim, working
dome light, and Plymouth steering wheel. But you can also tell this
one has been nicely upgraded. The radio is now a retro-style AM/FM
digital tuner featuring USB and Bluetooth for the best in modern
driving music. And because the air conditioning is blowing cold
with modern R134a, feel free to roll down all the windows and enjoy
the pillarless hardtop to its fullest - even in the summertime.
Even the trunk has been custom outfitted. Plus, the B&M ratchet
floor shifter, carbon fiber-like trim, and full Thunder Road gauge
package upgrade get you ready for something special under the
hood.
The engine bay looks exceptionally cool. The exterior green is now
joined by the kind of purple that looks like Plymouth's iconic Plum
Crazy/In-Violet. But quite frankly, the unique combination of the
two might just make you want to nickname this one The Joker.
Regardless, you'll love showing off the full package that has a
tidy setup, finned Mopar air grabber, and Mopar Magnum valve
covers. In fact, that last one helps tell the motor's full story,
because this is a 2002 Dodge 5.9-liter crate Magnum V8. The
consignor says this was rebuilt to include a bored .060 over kit,
roller cam, and 9.5:1 compression. It also has a Holley four-barrel
carburetor, Edelbrock intake, and a wicked set of Hooker headers.
The motor has the right supporting components, like a serpentine
belt system, newer motor mounts, MSD ignition, MSD billet
distributor, steel braided lines w/AN fittings, Holley electric
fuel pump, an aluminum radiator with electric fans, and a separate
trans cooler. We're told the low odometer represents the mileage
since the rebuild, and it's believed that the whole car only has
about 40k miles on it. That's why this one fires up eagerly and
runs strong. You'll love the tune of the Flowmaster dual exhaust,
but any time you really want to announce the added muscle, there
are electric cutouts. When you look underneath you'll spot some
more of that cool purple. Plus, there are power brakes with discs
up front, wide Mickey Thompson tires in the rear, power steering,
and a three-speed automatic transmission that was said to be
rebuilt at the same time as the motor.
The Scamp is already a rarity on the classic car scene, and this
one maximizes its memorable style with boldness and power. That's
why you know you love this custom. Call today!!!
