This 1956 Ford Fairlane Victoria makes for an awesome cruiser
because it mixes the best of vintage and new. After all, it's an
attractive classic look with a hardtop done in a timeless two-tone
and plenty of chrome. But the A/C interior, overdrive transmission,
and a hot 302ci V8 show that this one was given the right upgrades
so that you'll enjoy driving this classic Ford in modern times.
The Victoria is an attractive style. The hardtop design with a
wraparound rear window gives it both a sporty and sophisticated
look. And speaking of refines, the full-length trim is a terrific
premium touch. It has a stylish dip in the doors, and it provides a
distinctive divider for the red and white. This is a modern
application with a nice clearcoat finish with just the right amount
of maturity so that it doesn't look overdone. The whole coupe has a
great-looking body that loves to have this correct classic look
with wraparound chrome bumpers, wire wheel covers, whitewalls, and
rear fender skirts. In fact, the exterior only wants to give small
hints at the upgrades under the skin. So only some people may pick
up on the half-chrome headlights, blue-dot taillights, or large
exhaust tips. Because after all, even these additions were the kind
of things that would go on a youthful cruiser back in the day.
The interior has a crisp black and white style that's as appealing
as formalwear. It holds close to the feeling of a classic cruiser
where the two rows of wide bench seats feature a custom tuck and
roll style pattern. It's a great-looking vintage package, but there
are also the right upgrades that have been well-integrated. After
all, this is built to be a great cruiser. So the steering wheel is
an attractive polished unit mounted on a polished tilt column. This
gives you a clear view of the upgraded gauges with additional
Dolphin readouts. The radio is a retro-style unit that's an AM/FM
digital tuner with an aux input. And this also has cold-blowing
R134a air conditioning. So feel free to roll down all the windows
on this pillarless hardtop and stay comfortable even on those
summer drives.
Under the hood is a 302 cubic-inch V8. There are some nice polished
components like the Ford valve covers, smooth air grabber,
compressor, and more. But what you'll really be talking about are
the upgrades to the power, like the Edelbrock four-barrel
carburetor, Edelbrock intake, and Hedman headers feeding the Cherry
Bomb dual exhaust. It makes a nice rumble that will make you want
to hit the road. And there are the right components to keep you out
there longer. This includes an aluminum radiator with an electric
fan and a four-speed automatic transmission with highway-friendly
overdrive. Plus, you have power steering, power brakes, front
discs, and newer front bushings to deliver a solid all-around
driver.
This Fairlane Victoria has a great look, and it also has the right
features to let you comfortably show off its style near or far.
