Vehicle Description
This 2008 Shelby Cobra Factory Five is something extra special. You
have all the right Cobra features, like a real driver's roadster
that has a Roush fuel-injected V8, four-wheel disc brakes, and a
fully independent sports suspension. But this one is also the
prototype of a version that wanted to give you a premium luxury
experience. So there is a level of comfort and features in the
leather-lined interior that you're likely never going to find
again.
This Cobra is a stunning all-American. We can it's ready for
patriotic duty because you not only have Cobalt Blue paint with
bright white racing stripes on top, but also there's a fine red
pinstripe separating them. It all has quite an impressive look on a
build that has only about 1,500 miles on it. And the metallic in
the paint lets the sunlight radiate with pride over the curves that
make the Cobra body so iconic. This has all the best classic
details bright polished, like the push bumpers, racing-style roll
hood, and Halibrand style wheels. But there's an additional level
of appeal here, too. We're told this was the prototype for a
company to use Factory Five's construction and add the kind of
thoughtful and premium touches it's almost impossible to find
elsewhere. For example, you still have a set of side pipes, but
it's part of a full exhaust package that should pass any
regional/state emission testing. So basically think of this as the
shining Cora that was built for someone who really does love a
weekend road trip.
There's a lot of vintage sports car elegance here. The wood-rimmed
steering wheel is classic Cobra, and the weave of the fully
carpeted interior will remind you of a Porsche 356 Speedster. Even
the trunk is fully outfitted in this timelessly attractive style.
And they also took the time to integrate some modern features for a
true luxury experience. So the leather-wrapped dash has an
AM/FM/CD/XM touchscreen stereo, there's a subwoofer under your
seat, and this has provisions for automatic A/C climate control
(the R134a just likely needs a recharge.) Everything here feels
like it was done with added care. So you have high-back racing
bucket seats with Schroth harnesses, but this serious hardware is
wrapped in supple two-tone leather. There's a full gauge package
that is thoughtfully done in vintage-style VDO readouts. And you
know this is a true mix of premium and performance when it even has
an integrated radar detector!
Under the hood is a Ford legend, but a much more recent one than
you find in most Cobras. It's the fuel-injected 4.6-liter modular
V8, and this is a Roush 3V crate motor, so it was born to be mean.
It even is supported by a WMS Racing intake, steel braided lines, a
custom motor shroud, and an aluminum radiator w/electric fans.
Keeping you connected to the road is a race-inspired suspension
with a fully independent A-arm coilover set up and Factory Five
four-wheel power disc brakes. And remember, this car wants to be
far more everyday friendly than the other Cobras, and so you have
upgraded features like power steering and traction control (with an
off switch.) Plus, Ford's 5R55S five-speed transmission balances
out this package perfectly with good ratios for performance
driving, or you can just lie this automatically shift comfortably
into overdrive.
The sale comes complete with a binder full of docs on this unique
creation. This Cobra brings together the best names in the business
on a sleek street machine that also has enough civility to go
beyond the racetrack. You know something this unique rarely comes
up for sale. So don't miss your chance, call today!
