For Sale: 1957 Chevrolet 210 in Morgantown, Pennsylvania

Vehicle Description

1957 Chevrolet 210

Granted, in most cases it's the Bel Air that receives the lion's share of attention. One might even go so far as to question whether or not Chevy even produced anything other than the Bel Air, (and Corvette), in 1957, yet two other models were rolling for the assembly line: the 150, for the economy-minded consumer, and the 210, which bridged the gap between the 150 and the luxurious Bel Air. Today, these are the affordable models that make great alternatives to owning and restoring the more expensive Bel Air.

For consignment a mid-range trim package of 1957 in the form of a 210. A clean interior and snappy Anniversary Red paint...it's now your chance to get into the Tri Five era. You Ain't Nuthin but a hound dog...

Exterior
With Anniversary Red bathing the body panels we can see a few inclusions and scratches on the finish but it's an overall very nice deep painted job. Chrome is showing nicely all around even for the wrap around glass and "Dagmar"-less corners of trimmings for the silver grille. This car has the stainless steel horizontal ribbed panels which are ever expanding as they move back as the trimming panel for the rear quarter. This takes its handoff from a trim spear in chrome that starts at the front quarter headlights. I just love this exterior design with the chrome topped fins which drop vertically to form a crescent shaped taillight at the bottom. Way down is a rear bumper still nice and shiny, and this has an inset oval back-up light on either side. Chrome tipped dual exhaust peeks out from under the bumper. This car has deep dish rally wheels and blackwall tires on all 4 corners. I'm all shook up!

Interior
A recovering of the seats now dark gray inserts for the seat and split back upfront and full bench in back. The bolsters are a smooth silver vinyl The dash appears to have the original gauges, and has a silver dash front with a full metal jacket Anniversary Red painted dash top. A Grant GT rally size steering wheel fronts this dash. There is an aftermarket large tachometer mounted into the dash like the original gauges and it is right next to the steering wheel. The door panels are silver and there is some black padded vertical ribbed vinyl for the lowers which compliments the seats. Black carpeting in very clean condition floods the floors, and a T handle shifter reaches for the driver's hand from the hump. Above is a stunning red velour headliner looking very 50's and pristine. It's a hunk of burning love for me!

Drivetrain
Residing now under the hood in this gleaming engine bay is a 350ci motor circa 1977. It has a 4-barrel carburetor atop and a Muncie M20 4-speed manual transmission on back with a 3.36 rear. Headers are on and all bolt ons and reservoirs are corrosion free. Don't be cruel.

Undercarriage
Obviously a frame off restoration with newly painted floor pans and framing. A new fuel tank is on and now we see power disc brakes for the front, and power drums for the back. Independent coil sprung front suspension, and leaf springs with traction bars are on back. A shiny Flowmaster exhaust takes from the headers and releases the spent gases out the back.

Drive-Ability
A wonderful cruiser with nary even a squeak. It drives beautifully, has nice handling, good acceleration from the 350 cubes, and all working functions.

I'm not sure of the exact history with this car, but obviously it was a frame off restoration when we do not know. All good though as it presents nicely in its mid-range 210 form. Hey, it's now or never.
