Vehicle Description
For nearly twenty years the MGB was manufactured and marketed by
British Motor Corporation (BMC). It was a four-cylinder sports car
and variants included a soft top, a GT version which was a three
door 2 plus 2 coupe a 6-cylinder coupe called the MGC and the
elusive 8-cylinder coupe called the MGB GT V8. These cars were
highly popular when new all over the world, which is why you still
see quite a few on the road today. Finding a really nice one
however can be hard to do. In 1974 because of safety regulations,
the handsome steel bumpers went away for a more awkward looking
rubber speed rated bumpers. Fortunately for this excellent example
we are offering, at the time of restoration, a MOSS steel bumper
conversion was added and man, what a difference it makes with the
overall appearance. This car was restored by the famous British car
restorer, University Motors out of Ada Michigan. This was a dry SW
car out of Arizona to begin with so very little rust repair, if
any. A new hartz-cloth convertible top was also added. The interior
is mostly original and does have a cracked dash but all new weather
stripping and rubber seals were also added. A mechanical
restoration was also completed. The paint is in what I feel is
excellent condition as well. This B starts, runs, shifts and brakes
fantastic, Has excellent brakes and tires and is one of the nicest
B's I have had in this shop. It would cost double the asking price
to restore one to this level.
