BMW 2002s have come and gone through our shop, but in the past
decade we have not had any 1602s like this one come through! This
is one unbelievably cool hot-rod BMW 1602 that features some of the
best BMW goodies and a stunning Zender turbo body! Loaded with E21
5-speed transmission, E21 LSD, E21 Recaro seats and a BMW M1
steering wheel! Try finding one of those! What we have here is
undiluted 1602 racing sedan that was tweeted and sorted by BMW
experts. Historically, we love early 2002?s and this is by far the
earliest New Class 2-Door vin number we have ever sold or even seen
in the US (vin range 152XXXX). It eschews any luxury touches or
pretense at such. Dressed Chamonix White, the car?s paint and black
rim are in overall excellent condition. The body?s adorned with a
Zender 2002 turbo body kit and contrasting black rear Zender
spoiler. The car also has tinted glass and a crank factory sunroof.
This BMW rolls on a staggered set of Pirelli P7 Cinturato tires,
size 205/50VR15 in front and 225/50VR15 in back. Each tire is
mounted to a genuine 15? BBS Mahle one-piece alloy wheel, front
6x15 and rear 7x15. The wheels and tires are in excellent shape.
Beyond those, this lil? sedan has some heavy hardware under its
skin ? Bilstein heavy-duty gas shock absorbers; Miller and Norburn
Autocross springs, 19mm anti-sway bars; a Tii pressure plate and
control arms. This car also has Tii four-piston front disc brakes
and a Tii master cylinder. The undercarriage is extremely tidy with
highly detailed painted suspension components and is a must see!
The heart of the action is a BMW M10 2.0L SOHC four-cylinder engine
that has been bored and stroked to 2018cc and has a big valve head
from a 1973 BMW 2002 (code M10B18). The motor has the following
parts: a 32/36 Weber downdraft carburetor with manual choke; a
Staul performance exhaust header; Borla stainless steel exhaust
with center exit tailpipe; a Tropical radiator with electric fan;
MSD Ignition system; a Bosch distributor; and a Wiechers Sport
engine bay cross-brace. Backing this engine is a Getrag 245/4
five-speed manual transmission from a 1981 BMW 320is and a 40
percent limited-slip differential with a 3.90:1 rear end. Inside,
the car?s black interior offers a great counterpoint to the
exterior while keeping the racing theme intact. There are a pair of
E21 Recaro cloth bucket seats and a custom rear bench seat that
look great. Wilton wool carpeting covers the floor and above,
there?s a perforated headliner. A BMW factory M1 steering wheel and
SARacing pedals are ready for the track or just some fun. The dash
has VDO gauges, there?s a Porsche 904 gear shift knob and a
Blaupunkt AM/FM stereo with a cassette deck is hidden in the
glovebox. If you?re BMW fan, a collector looking for something
unique or a racer looking for something new, this 1602 might be
just for you. Stop by MotoeXotica Classic Cars today and check it
out for yourself or it will end up in someone else?s garage. VIN:
1527154 This car is currently located at our facility in St. Louis,
Missouri. Current mileage on the odometer shows 4,406 miles. It is
