The original owner of this vehicle was Rose Renero, she was the owner of the majority of farms in Modesto CA. She was also German and had this vehicle imported from Stuttgart, West Germany. During the late 80s she sold the car to the previous owners that recently passed away. The second owner loved this car and took very good care of it. His wife mentioned that he was very particular with everything he did on the vehicle and kept detailed records but unfortunately she no longer can find them. It has been garage kept all its life and the vehicle truly has no real rust anywhere. It was painted only once in the past and the seats have been recovered roughly 15 years ago. The remainder of the vehicle is all original. The body is very straight and in excellent condition. The interior is all there and has held up well. Please watch the video to see every inch of this Mercedes. It has what is believed to be the original 3.0 liter M189 inline six engine paired with a four speed automatic transmission. Since receiving the vehicle we have not done much! All we did was put in a new battery, check the fluids and it fired right up. Mechanically it runs and drives well. The motor is very healthy, sounds great and has plenty of power. Transmission shifts smoothly through all gears. I would go through everything before driving it daily as it has been sitting for quite some time. But I have driven it around town and on the highway and thought it ran very well. The lady mentioned that before her husband died he spent roughly 11k working on the suspension. The Air suspension goes up property but once it shuts off the passenger side lets out its air. The odometer reads roughly 80,xxx which is believed to be its original mileage. There are no known major leaks from the motor or transmission. The floors are in excellent condition. There is ZERO rust down there and all its panels are original. Being that it has spent its life in Modesto CA it is not only an original CA BLUE PLATE car but also has never been in rainy or snowy climates.
