Vehicle Description
- SALE PENDING -
Known internally at Mercedes-Benz as the W126, the
second-generation S-Class was introduced in 1979 and manufactured
through 1991. These production years saw the brand's S-Class grow
to become the flagship symbol for the ultimate in sedan luxury.
1986 marked the second series of the model's second-generation.
Mercedes expanded the engine offerings, focusing on reducing
pollution and fuel consumption, offering a six-cylinder inline
motor as well as multiple V8 options. The second series' automatic
transmission introduced the options of driver selected standard and
economy shift points, further demonstrating the brand's focus on
making the car more environmentally friendly.
This 1986 420SEL is a tremendous example of a S-Class sedan that
has been well maintained and cared for during its lifetime thus
far. Believed to be a one-owner car from Texas, this car presents
as unrestored and all original. The Smoke Gray exterior is striking
and is offset by the beautiful burgundy interior. Inside the car,
the driver is surrounded by supple leather that shows almost no
sign of wear, bolstering the belief that the just-under 25,000
miles shown on the odometer are likely all-original. This 420 has
fantastic technologies for its time, including power windows and
seats, automatic heat and A/C and power moonroof. The only thing
missing is the wired car phone for taking calls at $5 per minute.
Big body S-Class Mercedes are quickly becoming a collector's
favorite and few can be found in such pristine original condition
as the one being offered here.
Unless stated otherwise, mileage shown on odometer is exempt and
unknown if original.
