This 1987 GMC Jimmy 4x4 Restomod has been upgraded with
fuel-injected LS V8 power, an overdrive transmission, beefy
off-road upgrades, and refreshed with a loaded A/C interior. So dig
into all the info on an awesome 4x4 with all the right extras.
The full-size two-door GMC Jimmy's are not seen as often as their
Chevy K10 Blazer brothers, but they share the authoritative and
blocky style that makes them so attractive. The upper-level Sierra
Classic designation gives you full-length trim and a bright
tailgate insert that goes nicely with the chrome bumpers and
upgraded wheels. You also have a nicely intertwined two-tone and
white color theme. This was resprayed later in life to give you a
good shine, but nothing too fancy to keep you from enjoying this
4x4 to the fullest. After all, we know you've spotted some beefy
upgrades on this one. The front bumper is hardy steel fortified
with liner paint. And it has a brush guard, KC lights, and a
powerful Smittybilt x20 winch. The upgraded rear bumper now has
room for a cooler, whip antenna, integrated LED lights, and a
full-size spare on a swing-away mount.
The premium GMC trim level extends to the interior with plenty of
great features like power windows, power locks, cruise control, a
tilt steering column, a cup holder center console, CB radio, and an
upgraded AM/FM/CD stereo w/Bluetooth. The front bucket seats were
even reupholstered and now have classic GMC logo stitching on the
headrests. The rear seats were also refinished to match. And since
the air conditioning is blowing cold with modern R134a, it makes
this one even nicer to take out the rear hardtop and open the 4x4
up to the world. There's even rubber flooring and diamond plate
sides to keep this one more robust back there. We love these
full-size SUVs because they offer adult-size room that still leaves
space to carry your gear. And the proper trailer hitch on the back
means you can even take the camper or boat with you on
adventures.
We bet you've already gone ahead and checked out the pictures of
the engine bay. After all, an upgrade like this gets us all
excited. You have the 6.0-liter Vortec V8 borrowed from a later
2500-series GM truck. They made sure to cleanly install this
fuel-injected heart so that you'll proudly show off the upgrade.
There are also the right supporting pieces, like a K&N cold air
intake and dual Optima red top batteries. It fires up with
eagerness just like you know a proper modern FI machine should.
Power steering, power brakes w/discs up front, and the 4L60E
four-speed automatic transmission means you have an easy-cruising
overdrive machine. Of course, this Jimmy was not just made for the
pavement. The two-speed 4x4 transfer case, tall stance, and BF
Goodrich All-Terrain tires give this one the ability to also be the
coolest vehicle at the boat ramp or campsite.
The sale comes complete with the original warranty card, original
delivery paperwork, and the owner's manual. This is the beefy
square-stance GMC look you love with all the features and upgrades
already included. So you know you don't want to miss this deal.
