Vehicle Description
This 1979 Chevrolet C20 Custom Deluxe is one of the coolest trucks
you're going to see ever. The exterior has been given solid
investment so that you get a classic style in a show-worthy
presentation. But beneath the skin is a 425+ horsepower
fuel-injected powerhouse. It's the kind of solid all-around build
that's great to drive, and it will turn plenty of heads everywhere
you arrive.
It's rare to find a pickup like this. After all, these extra-duty
C20 long beds were used to the fullest as hardy workers. So they
already had to find an exceptional example even before the big
restoration investment. It starts with a red and white that's the
kind of tasteful contrast that gives this the all-American appeal
of a Coca-Cola bottle. And the two colors are united by a
show-ready shine. So while the full restoration was completed only
within the last five years, the freshness of the paint will make
you think it was done five days ago. Bright chrome bumpers,
full-length trim, color-matched wheels, and a full-size spare
mounted in the bed make for a great detailed classic. And there are
great additions. There are classic pieces like bed rails, and
subtle practical upgrades like modern Michelin tires and the LEDs
mounted in the grille. You do still have useful features like a tow
ball, trailing mirrors, and full liner paint in the bed, but
really, this one is too pretty to put back to work.
The interior continues the theme of classic style and the right
upgrades united by a fresh feel of quality. A good example of this
is the seat. You still have the classic bench, but now it has comfy
cloth inserts. And the smooth black style goes with the door
panels, sun visors, and dash. There are more comfort upgrades, like
the movable cup holder center console, tinted windows, and a
retro-style AM/FM digital tuner w/aux input. But what we bet you'll
love the most is the sliding rear window that still lets the
breezes through the cab in an old-school way. And the tilt steering
column, wraparound gauge panel, and upgraded tach all give this
pickup the feeling of a muscle car...and that feeling continues
with what's under the hood.
The engine bay has clean black inner walls, and that makes for a
great showcase for the big investment in big power. This is a 383
cubic-inch stroker V8 from the masters at BluePrint, and it was
installed only about 2k miles ago. This has BluePrint aluminum
heads, an Edelbrock intake, and long-tube headers. Plus, the Holley
electronic fuel injection system has a controller in the cab so
that you can dial in the performance and dependability. The full
package is dyno rated from BluePrint at 431 horsepower and 465
ft-lb of torque. You'll also spot the right supporting components,
like the MSD ignition package, Optima red top battery, and Champion
aluminum radiator w/dual electric fans. The TH400 three-speed
automatic transmission is a stout unit made for big power
applications, and this one is even said to have been recently
rebuilt. And you also have a thicker front sway bar, power
steering, power brakes, and front discs, for a good all-around
driver.
The sale comes complete with build receipts and the dyno sheet.
