This car was campaigned during the 1960 season by Chris Summers owner of Ansty Garage. This Lotus 18 and the Team Lotus cars were the only FJ fitted with lower alloy panels in period. Raced throughout the UK in 1960 including the British Grand Prix support race. Also participated in the Leinster Trophy AT Dunboyne.
At the end of the 1960 season Summers sold the car to Tommy Norton who fitted it with a 1220cc Supercharged Coventry Climax engine and hill climbed it in 1961 and 1962.
Continuous ownership history. Mike Treutlein installed a 4.7 litre V8 Chevrolet engine. Later Moff Racing installed a supercharged Lotus Twin Cam engine and hill climbed the car. Current owner acquired the car in 2012 from Mark Green and completed a restoration in 2013. 2016 Class C2 (Rear Engine Drum Brake) FIA Lurani Championship winner. Due to the car’s history, it was invited to the Goodwood Revival in 2017 in the Chichester Cup. 2018 Overall winner of the FIA Lurani Trophy for Formula Junior Cars.
