Vehicle Description
This is a true dream muscle car. It's a real-deal 1970 Pontiac GTO
that has been upgraded to a tribute to The Judge. And with
awesomely bold paint, a stylish interior, and a serious muscle car
powerhouse, you're looking at a total package classic.
This took the time to take one of the best power coupes ever and
elevated to a whole new echelon. When working with a car that's
already so important, they made sure to give it the best in
upgrades. That starts with what's arguably the most stand-out color
Pontiac ever had: Orbit Orange. This color is a hallmark of The
Judge, and they invested heavily in the finish to make sure it
could overrule the rest. Enthusiasts know The Judge is much more
than just getting the highly stylized decals accurate on the fender
and the trunk. This package was about adding more street-smart
aggression, so getting one of these right includes extras like the
wild colored side sunrise stripes and the wide rear spoiler. Plus,
twin scoops on the hood for Ram Air are a telltale sign of true
Pontiac power. Rally II wheels, quad exhaust tips, a form-fitting
chrome rear bumper, and the exclusive color-matched Endura front
end - it's all part of the detailed kind of package where they made
the investments in restoration so that you can drive this out of
the showroom and straight to the car show.
The green interior has a distinct style against the bright orange
exterior. It's pure 1970s cool. This is the factory-correct color,
but they made plenty of investments to keep it feeling fresh and
inviting. Plush carpeting, nice door panels, textured upholstery, a
smooth dash, and plenty of wood-like trim make this vintage and
attractive. This really has a correct look, right down to the
working dome light. But you'll also spot the right upgrades. The
AM/FM digital tuner w/cassette gives you better driving music, and
there are provisions for R134a air conditioning (it will need
servicing to blow cold again.) You have a terrific driver's setup
with a high-back bucket seat, center console w/floor shifter, and a
sports steering wheel on a tilt column. We love the gauge package,
especially with the sporty machine-turned insert for the lower
dash, and this also has Pontiac's iconic hood tach.
Under the hood is the 400 cubic-inch V8, and the consignor states
the internals were built to Ram Air IV standards less than 2k miles
ago. That means a forged setup with a high-revving style that could
take on Mopar six-pack cars on a Saturday night. But this one looks
too pretty to have spent time doing blacktop battles. That's why
you can really see the Pontiac Turquoise paint and polished valve
covers radiating within the tidy black engine bay. The V8 inhales
deeply with the four-barrel carburetor, and the long tube headers
exhale into a dual exhaust that happily announces your performance
with pride. It drives with authority thanks to the stout but smooth
TH400 three-speed automatic transmission, and a rear end has boxed
trailing arms and a thick sway bar. Add in the power steering,
power brakes, front discs, and wide BF Goodrich T/As, and it's easy
to show off this vivid muscle machine everywhere.
The sale comes complete with Pontiac Historic Services (PHS)
