Vehicle Description
2002 Cadillac Escalade
The introduction of the Lincoln Navigator in the 1998 model year
necessitated that General Motors be able to compete in the
burgeoning American market for full-size luxury-type trucks. This
generation was only a five-seat SUV. Fearing the growing hegemony
of the Lincoln Navigator, the Escalade was rushed through the
design process to reach dealers quickly. Essentially little more
than a badge-engineered GMC Yukon Denali, the SUV's aesthetics were
similar to the Denali and the final vehicle was smaller than the
Navigator.
For consignment, a second-generation Cadillac Escalade from 2002.
Plenty of luxury and conveniences, power options galore and a large
roomy interior, a great way to go on or off road in
style...Cadillac style.
Exterior
All panels are rust free and bathed in White Diamond Pearl. From
tip to toe the white diamond glistens. This 4 door 4x4 with its
running boards tinted glass and straight steel minding its gaps can
whisk you down the highway with the ultimate in luxury, Or if this
is not your cup of tea how about some glamping!
Interior
Beige leather and several power options, a killer stereo with
AM/FM/CD and Cassette capabilities all fold down seating for the
second row of buckets, and a third row rear bench, there is plenty
of room for extra passengers. All doors are complete with Bose
speakers inset and power buttons and toggles. A wood applique dash
houses instrumentation that is very clean and all working
functionality.
Drivetrain
Under the hood is a 6.0 Liter Vortec V8. It has EFI and a 4L60E
4-speed automatic transmission with 3.73 rear axle. Nice and
detailed under this clean hood.
Undercarriage
Some light surface rust on the usual cast steel items, but
otherwise nary even road dirt underneath. Structurally sound and
unbelievably clean with no drips from any mechanicals. Independent
torsion bar front suspension, and 4 link with coil springs for the
back along with power disc brakes all around.
Drive-Ability
Started right up and on the test track ran great, smooth power
curve, uneducable automatic shifting and good solid braking. We
noticed that the service air ride alarm is on but our consignor
states that the system was already replaced.
A luxury 4x4 with plenty of extras and extra room to play within
those amenities, the Escalade is the way to go first class on the
4x4 front.
