Pontiac was one of the first marques to enhance performance with
fuel injection. The brand maintained steady involvement in
motorsports when other entities balked. They were the first to
shove a giant engine in a mid-size car. They were the last to offer
a big block engine in a pony car. And they were one of the only
outfits to offer affordable, mid-engine performance. Even at its
bitter end, Pontiac was selling a unique line-up of cars that was
peppered with exclusive offerings like the all-wheel-drive Vibe,
the turbocharged Solstice coupe and this svelte G8 GXP performance
sedan. Then again, the brand's untimely closure is one thing that
makes cars like this G8 so special. As 1 of only 1,829 G8 GXPs
produced, this sedan was rare from the moment it hit the road. And
