TO ENJOY! In April 1971, BMW introduced the 3.0 CS, which went on
to become one of the companys best-selling and most important
models, especially in the lucrative U.S. marketplace. Based on the
2800 CS, the carbureted 3.0 CS and fuel-injected 3.0 CSi featured a
larger and more-powerful 3.0-liter 6-cylinder engine, chassis
updates for excellent handling, and new ventilated disc brakes all
around. While total production was not high, reaching just 11,063
for the 3.0 CS and 8,199 for the 3.0 CSi, the stylish BMW coupe was
an important model in the BMW lineage, especially as the company
strengthened its position in North America. Today, it continues as
an object of automotive desire for savvy driving
enthusiasts.Offered from single ownership from new under a valued
client of The Last Detail since we opened for business, this 1974
BMW 3.0 CS is a wonderful and highly original survivor with
excellent care and maintenance in full evidence and confirmed by
impressive service documentation on file. Factory options and
features are numerous, including BMWs famed twin-carb 3.0L engine
sending 170 SAE-rated horsepower through a 3-speed automatic
transmission, air conditioning, Tan leather upholstery, and Garnet
Red Metallic paint, plus power brakes, steering and windows, a
rear-window defroster, and AM/FM radio. A full-size spare
wheel/tire, tool kit, roadside jack and lug wrench are all
included, along with a file of service records, the original window
sticker, pre-delivery inspection sheet, and mint original owners
manual. An older, high-quality repaint in the factory Garnet Red
Metallic looks great, as does the sporty, well-equipped, and
preserved Tan leather interior compartment. Simply put, this
one-owner 1974 BMW 3.0 CS is a wonderful example throughout and
more than worthy of BMWs world-famous Ultimate Driving Machine
slogan.
