For Sale: 1972 Plymouth Barracuda in Charlotte, North Carolina

Vehicle Description

In a hobby that's chock full of numbers-matching time capsules and show-stopping customs, it's always nice to see a tasteful muscle car that's as tough as it is timeless. A head turning road rocket, this superb Barracuda and wraps stunning red and black aesthetics around a customized cockpit, a full Schwartz chassis and 440 cubic inches of hot MoPar stroker! Searching for a broad-shouldered classic that wraps killer performance in outstanding good looks? Check out this exceptional E-Body!

LIKE 1970, BUT BETTER!

The product of a professional, ground-up build that mixed years of skill with a heavy checkbook, this solid coupe wears an impressively straight fuselage that's been massaged to better-than-factory alignment. The car's crisp Crimson two-stage shines rich behind fresh bumpers, color-keyed mirrors, crystal clear lighting and stylish 440 Banners. An extra layer of menace comes courtesy of dark-tint glass, which look great between Satin Black frames and a Satin Black spoiler. And it all adds up to one of the coolest Plymouth resto-mods on the planet!

THE BETTER 440

The iconic "440' lettering on this Barracuda's clean quarters hints at legendary big block power. That said, even hints can be deceiving, as the car's thoroughbred V8 certainly isn't an assembly line transplant. Sourced directly from Bouchillon Performance Engineering, this $14K small block is stroked all the way out to an impressive 550 horsepower and a massive 560 lb./ft. of tire-killing torque! At the top of the Mopar Performance 340 block, a stealthy Mopar Performance air cleaner feeds a 750cfm Holley 4-barrel, which feeds a color-keyed Edelbrock intake. That aluminum intake feeds aluminum Indy TA heads, which stack Mopar Performance valve covers under one billet breather and one stainless MoPar breather. A forged crank and forged pistons work well with a hydraulic roller cam. Compression gets sparked by loomed wires, which are sequenced to a points-style distributor and an MSD Blaster 2 coil. Spent gases exit through custom stainless headers. Cooling comes courtesy of a lightweight aluminum radiator, which is teamed with a Griffin cap and two SPAL puller fans. A chrome Saginaw steering pump joins a polished alternator and a polished Sanden AC compressor behind a Billet Specialties Tru Trac serpentine drive. Details are on point, with billet tanks, trick sticks and sleeved lines framing a JEGS linkage, FAST fuel components and a Charlies oil pan. And the car's body-matched engine bay looks great under modern hood pins and billet hood supports.

A BETTER EXPERIENCE

Bottom-side, a smooth hydraulic clutch kicks a tough Tremec TKO600 5-speed, which spins a spry Moser 9-inch that's built with 31-spline axles and a proven Truetrac posi. That premium drivetrain, installed by the pros at Bouchillon Performance Engineering, pushes a powder-coated Schwartz Performance chassis. Those bones, spanning big sway bars, tubular control arms and quality Ridetech coil-overs, trail an independent front-half with a 4-link rear-clip. Turns come courtesy of Fox Body-style power rack-and-pinion steering. Power-assisted Wilwood calipers push 20 pistons against a quartet of 13-inch cross-drilled rotors. A thrill-inducing soundtrack fills large-diameter pipes that thread throaty Flowmaster mufflers on their way to welded resonators and polished tips. And at the corners of the chassis, handsome Forgeline GA3s spin 255/40ZR17 Continental Extreme Contacts in front of 295/35ZR18 Continental Extreme Contacts.

LIKE 1972, BUT BETTER!

Open this E-Body's solid doors and you'll find an attractive Black interior that's blessed with just the right amount of modification. Tall bucket seats join a factory bench on premium, fade-free carpet. A padded dash hangs MoPar-branded AutoMeter telemetry above modern air conditioning and modern Pioneer audio. Pick-free side panels parallel a short Hurst shifter and cool, 'cuda-branded floor mats. The driver spins an elegant Flaming River Waterfall wheel around a modern, tilting column. And a clean trunk frames a massive Pyrotect fuel cell.

The true beauty of a classic car is that it can be anything you want it to be. Love original lines, but want a little more substance? Looking for some killer metal that'll wow crowds AND tear up the roads? Here it is, no compromises, no disclaimers and no excuses!
