38,880 actual mile survivor! Only 2 owners, both elderly. It lived
in North Carolina most of it's life. The 2nd owner installed the
cold a/c, dual exhaust and a retro stereo!
EXTERIOR: All original uncut, rust free, damage free metal. It's
straight, the panels fit real nicely. Most of the paint on the car
is still the original and it shows really well. Of course it's 55
years old and has some minor imperfections but it's one of the
nicer survivor paints I've seen. The glass is real clear. All the
original trim is shiny and straight. Weatherstrips are still soft.
The tires were recently replaced.
INTERIOR: I Believe the interior is all original and in excellent
condition. The carpet is real nice. The seats are excellent. Door
panels are mint. All the trim like the armrests window cranks,
mirror, kick panels are real nice. The headliner and visors are
excellent, the domelight works. The dash area is mint too. The
chrome sparkles, gauges are clean, lenses are clear, heater control
panel is spotless. It does have a retro stereo in the factory hole
and an air conditioning unit below the dash. It was a non smoker,
the cigarette lighter and ashtray were never used. The light works
in the glovebox. It has in the glovebox pouch with the manuals,
Protect-o-plate, build sheet and registrations.
ENGINE COMPARTMENT: Very clean original motor compartment. It does
have a new air conditioning system installed. It also features
factory power steering and power brakes. #s matching 283 motor
still has it's original valve covers, manifolds, air cleaner,
pulleys etc. All smooth clean metal.
TRUNK COMPARTMENT: I love seeing original spatter paint, especially
when it is this nice. This is not from a spray, this is the paint
it left the factory with. It has the original rubber mat with some
cracks in it. There's a new radial tire for a spare and a painted
rim. The jack assembly is there, the trunk light works.
UNDERSIDE: It is completely rock solid, original uncut metal under
this car. It's well preserved original. It does have new dual
exhaust system front to back. The brakes have been inspected,
they're in excellent shape. Brake hoses and shocks have been
replaced. Bottom of the motor is clean. It has it's original
Powerglide automatic transmission. It also has it's original rear
end with 3.36 gears.
Wait til you drive it! Like a new car, smooth with no shakes or
rattles. Not every car needs to be a red SS. This is what more
people can relate to. It's a piece of Americana.
I, Jay Grams, take pride in personally writing the descriptions for
virtually every car for about the last 30 years now. A significant
amount of effort goes into fact checking. What I am offering is my
professional impression of the vehicle.
Our salesmen are happy to assist with descriptions and making sure
your questions are answered. One great suggestion is letting us do
a walk around video that explains the car's condition in
detail.
**These cars are displayed in a museum. If interested in a
particular car make an appointment with a salesman to see that car.
Without an appointment there is an admission fee to enter the
showroom. If you buy a car, your admission will be refunded and you
will be given a 1 year membership.
