Vehicle Description
Low miles and shining factory paint are all about showcasing the
preserved side of this 1996 Chevrolet Impala SS. And we can
understand why a car like this would be so well respected. After
all, this is a limited run where Chevy updated the idea of a
powerful full-size car by giving us a sedan with the Corvette's
fuel-injected V8.
Averaging less than 1,200 miles annually is an instant sign that
this Impala SS has been respected over the last quarter-century.
And that 25-year mark is especially important because this car
starts to become eligible for antique/vintage registrations in many
states. But it's not the stats that impress the most on this car;
it's the way it looks. The factory Dark Cherry Metallic is still a
peach of a paint job. It's a color you'll really enjoy because it
looks almost black at night, but then the red comes out in the
sunlight. And the sunlight also shows off the straightness of the
sheet metal as the shine rolls evenly across the Caprice/Impala's
aerodynamic silhouette. The whole package is stock and impressive -
right down to those special polished 17-inch alloys. In fact, it's
a true hunt to find anything that this preserved modern didn't have
on in from day one (we can only spot those special SS chrome badges
on the front fenders.)
The interior was a special design, too. The bucket seats up front
provide the individual comfort of a sports car, but they still have
the size and comfort of a Caprice-level cruiser. Power front seats,
a tilt steering column, an armrest center console, and a full gauge
package are all there to give you a proper driver's car feeling.
The full leather seating shows only minor signs of use, because
after all, low mileage means little seat time. So while you can
share this one with family and friends, it looks like the ample
back seat has yet to do a sticky-fingers ice cream run. Instead,
this one is about responsible ownership where you use the big trunk
for your weekend getaways that include the golf clubs. It's true
grand touring comfort that's loaded with all the best features,
like cruise control, power windows power locks, keyless
entry/alarm, power mirrors, a powerful AM/FM/CD stereo, automatic
headlights, and ice-cold air conditioning. And while this is now
officially a classic, you also have the right modern safety
features, like dual front airbags and anti-lock brakes.
The Impala SS is a true legend thanks to the Corvette's LT1 V8.
Take some time to look at the amazingly stock and clean condition
of the engine bay - it's like you're picking it up from the Chevy
showroom in 1996. But don't be afraid to get a little dirt in
there, after all, these Chevys were made to be driven. The LT1
barks to life easily, idles smoothly, and it pulls like a freight
train. The four-speed automatic overdrive transmission is smooth
and always seems to be ready to leap into action. The suspension
has been upgraded over the Caprice to handle the extra power with
ease, and it comes with power steering, four-wheel disc brakes,
sway bars, grippy BF Goodrich Comp T/A tires, and pricey de Carbon
shocks.
This preserved modern classic even comes with the window sticker.
This is the car that you're going to love to collect, drive, and
share. In other words: this Impala SS is for those who love to do
it all in style. Call today!!!
