This 1954 Dodge Royal Convertible is a beautifully restored 50s
cruiser that is ready to roll! The Royal model was initially
introduced to the public on October 8, 1953 and debuted in 1954.
Touted in advertising materials as "Elegance in Action," the Dodge
Royal was the highest trim level offered by Dodge at the time and
came with Dodge's largest engine available at the time, the Red Ram
241 Hemi V8. Besides the Red Ram Hemi engine that came in all
Royals, special chrome trim and V8 emblems, along with a "Jet Flow"
scoop on the front of the hood, helped differentiate the
top-of-the-line Royal from the mid-level Coronets. The '54 Royal
Convertible also marked the very first time a Dodge product was
selected as the Pace Car for the Indianapolis 500 on May 31, 1954.
The Convertible model was by far the rarest Royal model comprising
just 3% of the overall production numbers for the Royals produced
in 1954. Under the hood on this particular Royal Convertible is of
course a powerful and smooth-running Red Ram 241 Cubic Inch Hemi V8
that is paired with a single 4 barrel carburetor. The 241 Hemi is
mated to a PowerFlite Automatic Transmission that just about anyone
can drive with ease. The chrome and brightwork around the exterior
of this classic mopar looks fantastic. The exterior on this Royal
has been beautifully refinished in Pace Car Yellow that harkens
back to first ever Dodge Indy 500 Pace Car. The black cloth power
convertible top is in wonderful shape as well and it goes up and
down with the simple toggle of an under-dash switch. This Royal
sits on 4 wide whitewall bias-ply tires on Wire Wheels, that along
with the rear-mounted Continental Kit, gives this convertible a
truly classic look. The interior on this Royal is absolutely
stunning! The front and rear bench seats have been reupholstered in
Yellow and Black imitation leather, complementing the exterior look
of the car. The dash, door panels, and steering wheel are all in
superb shape as well and appear to be the beneficiaries of a recent
refurbishment. The dash appears to be in its stock configuration,
equipped with a 120 MPH speedometer, amp gauge, fuel gauge, oil
pressure gauge, and temperature gauge, along with a clock and AM
radio. Whether you're looking for your very first classic car or
you are an established mopar collector, this 1954 Dodge Royal
Convertible would be an excellent choice. Give us a call today!
