thirty-six years. Around the time of the car's birth, Ferry Porsche
famously said of it: We have the only car that can go from an East
African safari to Le Mans, then to the theater, and then to the
streets of New York. The car's protean talents have created a
generation of enthusiasts who still ache to own a 911, even if both
they and the car are graying at the temples. The automotive press
say it's the right size for a sports car. It has the right amount
of power, stellar brakes, impeccable handling, and the best/most
comfortable OEM seats found anywhere. The more it's driven the more
loved is its performance, handling, and great engine feel and sound
(especially in this one). Second gear is the place to experience
the long, strong pull of its ultra-wide power band - it's good to
74 mph! What really impresses is the amount of stuff this car can
carry: The front trunk is deep enough for a briefcase and at least
two soft pieces of luggage, and the area behind the seats will hold
a few more suitcases plus a garment bag.A Motor Trend Magazine
Senior Editor on the 2001 Carrera: If somebody made me choose only
one sports car for the rest of my life (all things considered:
classic styling, resale value, reliability, comprehensive
performance, comfort, cachet, and pride), I'd choose the 911
Carrera over anything. Hagerty Valuation Tools for this year and
