GORGEOUS! 1964 Corvette Coupe 327/365hp - Brand new frame-off
restoration! Here is an opportunity to purchase a ""new"" 1964
Corvette that has been hand built from top to bottom resulting in a
quality build the factory could not offer.
Starting out life as a 250hp 327 cubic inch powered Coupe, there
was a desire to increase the power output during the restoration
process. The numbers matching engine block was machined and fitted
with internals to replicate the desirable L76 option, 327/365hp
power plant, including the correct ""30/30"" mechanical lifter
camshaft. Exhaust gases exit the correct, stock type manifolds
connected to factory style chambered exhaust system, exiting out
tailpipes under the rear bumper. The new found power is transferred
to the tires through the numbers matching Muncie 4 speed
transmission and posi-traction rear end. The suspension system was
completely refurbished including the factory optioned,
power-assisted, 4-wheel drum braking system. American Racing Torque
Thrust wheels were selected for their nostalgia appearance, running
15x7's on all 4 corners wrapped with classic BFGoodrich Radial T/A
tires measuring 215/70/15.
The interior is in beautiful condition, done in the factory trim
code ""490-B"" blue vinyl with new blue carpet throughout. The
dashboard gauges feature the stock 160-mph speedometer and 7000 rpm
tachometer front and center, surrounded by oil pressure, water
temperature, battery volts and fuel level. The steering wheel,
factory shifter, center console, and OEM AM/FM radio, all look
incredible knowing their age. The factory clock located in the
center of the dashboard is in perfect working condition and the
odometer reads an unverified 64590 miles.
The restoration process involved removing the body from the frame
to allow for a more thorough and detailed finished product. The
frame was media blasted and painted the correct semi-gloss black
while the body received many hours of prep work before the
beautiful Silver-Blue (trim tag code ""912"") paint was applied
then polished to a gloss finish.
