Here is a unique 1980 MGB, complete with a supercharger and overdrive transmission. This car has been painted in British Racing Green and equipped with a set of early steel bumpers and grille, giving the desirable appearance of an early 70’s version. In includes both a matching hard top and a black soft top, and has also been fitted with a luggage rack. The paint shows some age but still shines nicely. The car also has wire knockoff wheels with Firestone 185/65R14 tires.
The engine features a roots type supercharger for a nice boost over the factory arrangement. This is followed by the factory 4-speed transmission along with a functional and somewhat rare overdrive unit. The MGB’s light weight, front disc brakes, and rack and pinion steering all make for a lot of fun.
The tan interior is in nice condition and is well accented by the woodgrain dashboard and steering wheel. All gauges and lights work properly as do the wipers, defroster, and parking brake. As a 1980 model it includes shoulder belts too. There is also an aftermarket JVC audio system along with a set of power ports under the glove box. The trunk includes a spare tire and original jack.
The MGB is one of the best-selling roadsters of all time, and for good reason. It has classic looks, is exciting to drive, and is easy to maintain. The large sales volume and strong following make replacement parts and support easy to obtain. And this one, with its steel bumpers, hard top, supercharger, and overdrive, has a lot of desirable features as well.
