This 1978 Ford F-150 Short Box pickup is a cool, original, and
clean truck that spent its life in Wyoming. This is a really nice,
original truck and we purchased from the 2nd Owner who stated the
86,900 miles are original. Based on the condition and originality
we believe this to be true. The 2nd owner purchased the truck bone
stock and was the one who added the cool upgrades to it. The body
on this F150 is very clean and the paint appears to be the original
paint. The paint color is Dark Brown Metallic and it polished out
really nice and shows some cool patina. The 2nd owner added the
stripes which gives it a great look as well as the roll bar and
lift kit and wheels/tires. We found no rust issues with this truck.
The original bumpers and grille on this truck are still in great
shape!! The interior is really nice and it recently had a new vinyl
floor installed and the seat recovered. They also added new door
panels, new headliner, and new dash cover. The headlights,
taillights, turn signals, brake lights, gauges, wipers, heat, and
horn work. This truck also recently had a new windshield and a
sliding rear window installed.
Mechanically this truck is great and it runs and drives
excellent!!! The engine is the original 351M V8 that starts easy
and runs strong with no issues or red flags that we could find. It
has a recently rebuilt Carb, newer distributor, newer plug wires,
and new spark plugs (full tune-up). Other additions include a new
aluminum radiator and dual exhaust. The transmission is the np435
(4 Speed Manual) that shifts nice and it is mated to the np205
transfer case. The 4WD works like it should. It has a Ford 9" Rear
Axle with 4.11 Gears and a Limited Slip Rear End. The front axle is
a Dana 44 with 4.11 Gears. It recently received a 2 1/2 Inch Rough
Country Lift with new shocks and steering stabilizers. This is all
sitting on a cool set of aluminum wheels with some Dic Cepek Trail
Country EXP tires (33 Inch). Cool truck!!!
