This 1999 Chevrolet Corvette Convertible '53 Commemorative Edition
combines the classic looks of the 1953 C1 Corvette with the modern
luxuries of the later model C5 'Vettes. The Corvette was originally
introduced in 1953 at the Motorama display at the Waldorf Astoria
in New York. Although the first year Corvettes were sparsely
optioned and underpowered, they are most likely the most
collectible Corvette ever produced because only 300 were produced
in the initial run. Nonetheless, Chevrolet continued producing its
highly popular and highly successful Corvettes virtually every year
since 1953, refining and improving the performance and elevating
the luxuriousness along the way. By the fifth generation, the
Corvettes came fully loaded and stocked full of power. This
particular Corvette was professionally converted by Advanced
Automotive Technologies (AAT) to be made to look like a classic
1953 Corvette. To convert this C5 Corvette into what it is today,
AAT took a C5 Corvette and added custom body panels, custom trim,
and dressed up the interior to give this C5 a one-of-a-kind classic
look. Under the hood is a Fuel Injected 5.7 Liter LS1 V8 Engine
that pushed out 345 horsepower in its day. The LS1 powerplant is
hooked up to a 6 speed manual transmission that makes this C5
Corvette a total blast to drive. This 99 Corvette Convertible comes
loaded with options! 4 Wheel Anti-Lock Power Disc Brakes provide
plenty of stopping power for the muscle found under the hood. Power
steering ensures that you can get in and out of tight spaces with
ease. The front grille, quarter panels, and rear have all been
dressed up or replaced to portray the look of the original '53 C1s.
The interior has an gorgeous C1 look! The Arctic White Exterior is
reminiscent of the Polo White exteriors found on the '53 Corvettes
and the black cloth top with rear glass window is in fantastic
shape as well. The Firethorn Red leather bucket seats and center
console are all in great shape and harken back to the look of '53
Corvettes. The door panels, glove box, and steering wheel are
covered in matching red and white leather as well, combining the
exterior and interior color schemes. The white Hurst shifter knob
is also in nice condition and has a great feel. The interior on
this 'Vette is totally loaded! Power windows, dual side power
mirrors, full climate control, variable speed windshield wipers,
cruise control, tilt steering wheel, and an AM/FM/Cassette
entertainment system are excellent luxury options. The instrument
cluster is equipped with a 200 MPH speedometer, tachometer, amp
gauge, fuel gauge, oil pressure gauge, and temperature gauge. If
you're looking for a car that has superb performance and that you
can just hop in and drive but has a classic look, this 1999
Chevrolet Corvette '53 Commemorative Edition would be an excellent
choice. Give us a call today!
