These fun little cars were so popular and durable that they sold thousands of them during their long production run. By now many have gotten pretty rough & needy and some have been expensively restored to perfection. This car is a great compromise, in that it’s in very nice condition and a great driver, but you’re not paying for an excessive beauty treatment.
It was lightly restored several years ago, the engine freshened up and the car nicely painted in the original color. The seats were recovered in leather—not vinyl—and it has a new top, Vredestein Sport tires and runs like a top. Some insurance companies now require a roll bar in small convertibles, and this car already has one that fits nicely under the top. The engine starts right up, has plenty of pep from the twin SU carburetors and has just-right oil pressure & temperature readings. The steering and suspension are tight and everything works! (And it’s among the last models with preferred chrome bumpers)
Complete with spare & tools, a factory shop manual and the trouble-free Rostyle wheels that eliminate wires’ tubes and tire mounting & balance problems. It even comes with a quality car cover and tonneau cover!
