Vehicle Description
Carolina Muscle Cars has another unique car heading into our
showroom. This is the 1972 Ford Mustang Sprint "Olympics
Commemorative Edition". This car is a true one owner vehicle that
sold new at Ford Ray Motor Company in Hillsborough, North Carolina.
The original owner purchased the car new on September 9th, 1972 and
the car has remained at same address since 1972!
An all-American Olympic red-white-and-blue Sprint package was
perfectly timed for release between March and June of 1972 right
before the Summer Olympics and all its excitement. Edsel B. Ford
II, Merchandising Marketing Manager at Ford at the time, can be
credited for the Olympic Sprint campaign. The package was one of
the most striking in the marque's history, which made it a popular
seller. By the end of the model year, 9,383 units were sold in all
three Mustang body styles. That accounts for 7.5 percent of Mustang
sales, according to the 1972 Mustang Sprint Registry.
Our car was preserved and stored by the original owner from new.
The car received one quality repaint but remains largely original.
The car has an excellent original interior, trunk area, and
underside. The car has been garage and barn kept from new and is
very solid with original body panels.
Documented with the owners manual, Original window Sticker and NC
title showing this as a true one owner.
Options from the original window sticker include:
Sprint Decor Package A "Olympic Summer Package"
302 V8 Engine
Cruise O Matic Transmission
Power Steering
AM Radio
If you are in the market for a well priced and exclusive classic
